when will I feel better

Hi,
I am a 46 year old woman, I had a partial hyst in 1992.  Over the last 4 months I have been having severe pain in my left pelvic region and lower back. Every morning when I have a bowel movement it feels as if my insides are going to fall out also because of the pressure.  I went to a new gyno day before yesterday and she said I had a bacteria from looking down there, but couldn't tell me from what.  Haven't received the results of the pap smear, and I am scheduled to have the trans vaginal ultrasound on Oct 11th.  My question is, my father had colon cancer, my dads brother just passed away of colon cancer 5 months ago.  I also had micro calcifications removed in my right breast 9 months ago.  Am I going crazy, I feel like these doctors think I am making these symptoms up.  Could all of this be related.  Someone please help me.  I am just so tempted not to go back to any doctor.  Help me please.  Even when I have sex with my partner it feels as if I am going to have a bowel movement.

Your described symptoms could be a number of things.  At the very least you should have a transvaginal sonogram sooner than later (the squeaky wheel gets the oil) and panel of blood test to include a CA125, CEA and inhibin A&B.  Based on your family Hx you also need a cat scan of your abdomen and pelvis no matter what the transvaginal sono shows.
When my wife had her mass discovered on exam her gyn made an appoitment for her two weeks wait, there was no way I was waiting two weeks. Get a perscription from your Dr for the sonogram and cat scan of abdomen and pelvis(pre-approval from ins if u need) I called a few radiology practices and told them her physician wanted this test done asap and had the sono and cat scan done all in under a week. I did not want the diagnoses process streched over a month or two and only to be told down the line that we should have not waited so long.
You have to be your own advocate, be agressive, in the medicine field the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Get copies of all your tests as you are entitiled to them. Post with any other question you have
Good Luck

Kevin gave good advice.  I would also add that a colonoscopy might be a good Idea.  Good luck.  Marie
