why is it still ovarion cancer

hi. i had stage4 ovarion cancer in 2002.in 2008 had reacurrance.my ? is why is it still ovarion cancer if i had full hysteritomy?

   thanks for the reply. I did chemo.then when i had surgery they said tumer was gone.now my ca125 keeps going up and down have me doing another blood test to.but can't remember what its called.they now have me takingTAMOXIFEN AND MEGESTROL ACETATE since ct scan showed lymp nodes enlarged. hope this works cus i really don't want to go thru chemo again..

It's still ovarian cancer because even though you have no ovaries, cancer cells can remain and grow. I'm not sure anyone can tell you why those cells remain dormant for so long on some, and become active again very quickly for others. Possibly the chemo you had kept them at bay for 6 years.
