worried help?

I am 23, i had surgery Friday. The surgery was only suppose to take an hr but ended up lasting 3 hrs the Dr thought i had a 1 inch solid tumor on my ovary but when he got in there it turned out to be much bigger, I'm not sure exactly how big he just told my family he removed a large mass which was on my right ovary, they sent it to be tested for cancer. He a then removed my right ovary.  Also he removed two other cyst which where fluid filled on my left ovary. Then he said my uterus is very oddly shaped not tilted but in the shape of a "u" which may lead to needing it removed???? Any opinions anyone i can't hardly eat worried EVERYTHING!

I had mine back within a few days, less than 5 if I remember correctly. It's been 4 years since I had my 10 cm cyst and ovary/tube removed. And even though I'm post menopausal and the cyst was so huge, it was still benign. So there's always hope.

The waiting is always hard. On a brighter note at least he wants to know for sure before giving you the final news, good or bad. I take it the cyst was on the right ovary since that's the one he removed. Not all complex cysts are cancer. Only a small percentage of cysts turn out to be cancer. We all just hope we never fall into that small percentage.

As for the uterus, just because it's shaped wrong doesn't mean it has to come out. I personally would get a second opinion on that before having it done. And if the doctor wants to do further surgery on the ovary issue, be sure to have a gynecologist/oncologist involved. They know so much more about these things.
