I don't know if she has access to a second opinion. If so, I would encourage it. Surgery & chemo is the standard of care and I would want to make sure the delay in surgery would not be a problem. Marie
Yes fingers crossed that the chemo will further shrink the tumours, that is great that they have shrunk so much already !!. It is better that the tumours are as small as possible before surgery . Good luck to your boyfriends mum with the next lot of chemo.
Very best wishes
Angie
she is 54 years old, apparently her consultant has said that the tumours have shrunk to half their original size and they are carrying on with chemo and reassessing after this next lot of chemo.
her consultant said that there was no benefit in doing the surgery as the chemo was doing enough for now!
so fingers crossed its a good thing!
The only possible advice I can give you is to speak with her Dr. If chemo has removed all traces on the scans it doesn't mean there is nothing there. Plus there must be something wrong if she needed chemo in the first place...so like I said I would talk with her Dr. ~~~Good luck~~~Joanne
Hi,
The only way you are going to find out what is going on is to ask the doctor about the change of plan, you don,t say how old your boyfriends mum is , a bit more information would be helpful but in any case your doctor is the only one with the answers. It would be best to make a list of questions and take them to her next appointment.
Good luck , Best wishes Angie
