Gerd or Ovarian cysts?

I wanted to share this story with you guys in case you or someone you know has been in my position.
I am 23 and a virgin hence why i put off going to see a gyn. My Periods were really awful and I would have pain in my ovaries, but
just took Midol and moved on. Recently I have been feeling really sick vomit nausea inconsistent in my stools.I went to the Dr. to get checked and they figured I had gerd. So i was taking H2 blockers(zantac) . A month or so past i went back complaining that the medicine isn't working; I felt pressure in my abdomen. lower back was hurting, and im still throwing up. Finally they gave me an appointment for a pelvic and abdominal ultrasound, but it wasn't till October. Long story short i found myself at the er for barley eating for 3 days just jello and water and still throwing up. They did a barium scan, pelvic exam, and at first a regular scan. They found a 20 Cm cyst in my abdomen. It was pushing my bowles out of place and making me feel really ill. I am getting surgery soon. I just wanted to share that because 2 separate doctors thought it was gerd and it wasn't.

I'm nervous to about going into surgery as well. I think that it is just a nerve wracking experience that no can ever get over.  I hope all goes well and that you feel a lot better after it's done!

Vomiting and nausea are signs of GERD but not pressure in the abdomen. I'm wondering how the doctors or even the nurses didn't pick anything else up. I certainly hope that your surgery goes well!  I hope this never happens to anyone else.
