20yr old with ovarian cysts

Hey my daughter is 20yr old and started at Christmas with 2 cyst on l. ovary and one ruputre.  The  Dr said just needs to take it easy. Well , than 4wks later she started hurting again with low grade fever but on the r. ovary.  They took a ultrasound and said this one was larger than the l. ovary and he was concern because she was already on birth control pills .  so, he started her on stronger was and will do another ultrasound Feb 12 to see how things are going.  MY question is this all started in Dec and she's already had 3cyst.  What can they do for this?  And she gets in lots of pain!  I would appreciate any input!!

Unfortunately, cysts can cause a lot of pain and sometimes if it's not life threatening or considered risky, doctors won't perform surgery until after they monitor the cysts for a few cycles or weeks. Did they say what kind of cysts your daughter had? Simple or complex? Doctors will consider surgically removing a cyst once it grows over 5 cm. It's good that she went to the doctor when she had a lowgrade fever. In fact, doctors will tell you to go to the ER if you develop a fever and have cysts. Better safe than sorry. If a cyst ruptures, it does cause even more pain, but it subsides within a few days. All your daughter can do is continue to see her doctor and monitor the cysts. If she's ever concerned because she gets a fever or unbearable pain, she should go to the ER and get checked. Especially if she has a complex cyst. I'm sorry your daughter is going through this. I wish her the best and good luck!

I'm 24 years old and since June of last year I have had 3 cysts on the same ovary. One ruptured on its own. One was so painful they needed to remove it surgically and one just came back now. I also have been on hormones. My advice and my doctors advice to me today at my appointment about my new cyst was unless the pain is 11/10 no more surgery (I feel the same way) that was where the pain was last time btw. Otherwise it is best to hope and pray they resolve on their own. If it hurts worse I would say up the date of the US but if your daughter isn't happy with the doctor and doesn't trust him/her get a second opinion! Your daughter is in charge of her healthcare!
Best of luck!
