Abdominal discomfort

I just under went a
OVARIAN CYSTECTOMY/laparoscopy due to a dermoid cyst inside my left ovary (softball size)Exactly 10 days ago...day 2 after surgery recovering at home I felt a uncomfortable pressure on my left side lower abdominal region, feels like its coming from behind my rib cage area. I developed a fever 4 days ago, in which I saw my doctor, she said not to worry, the discomfort could be muscle related? My temp. Was 100.3, she prescribed antibiotics just incase. I've been taking them, fever broke yesterday, Body feels fine, but still have this pressure discomfort on my left side, does not want to go away at all. Very uncomfortable. Even pain meds cannot take the discomfort away....could this be more then muscle related?? Maybe enlarge Spleen? Is this also possible? I'm unsure. Any help, thank you.

Going on 2 weeks after my surgery, I'm still having discomfort in my upper left abdomen area, I'm afraid it could be my spleen? Or perhaps anything else that's serious. I just finished my antibiotics as prescribed to me. I've had no fever, no chills, or any other symptoms that would seem otherwise not normal... However I still just have this burning pain under my ribcage.(left side) that will not go away. I may see my doctor about this next week. Has anyone else experienced this symptom at all?

Dont freak out. This happened to me too. I had a collection of fluid behind my uterus after my first surgery. I had to be hospitalized with IV antibiotics for a week because of sepsis. If you still don't feel well, don't be afraid to speak up. Ask for an ultrasound or CT. Infection can increase your chances of adhesions.

Hello,
For such pain in the abdomen after laparoscopic surgery any infection should be ruled out especially if there was a history of any recent fever also. Consult your doctor and get a WBC count, blood culture and vaginal culture done. You may need a course of antibiotics. If the symptoms persist then pelvic inflammatory disease and adhesion formation should be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
