I tried today the mint tea to clear off gases and it worked, as long as I keep drinking it.I will not take medications for gases, that's not my style.
As for the dairy, before I was diagnosed with hereditary hypercholesterol, I used to eat cheese every day as my only form of animal protein. Being vegetarian for 23 years, I have to find an intake somewhere. Now, I'm reduced to 1 portion every 2 weeks. To me, it's like a death sentence since I LOVE cheese. I was having an occasionnal latte as well, but cheese used to be a huge part of my grocery. So, in my case, an ovarian cyst might have a link with dairy products. There's no such heredity that I know in my family.
The dairy situation might apply to some but I am notorious for not injesting enough milk products and still had cysts.
Hi.. I've also asked that question regarding diet to prevent further cysts.. Evidently there isn't any absolute way of preventing them . I imagine if you look, you'll find all sorts of theories, none necessary proven.. I agree with Angie..balanced diet is key. Furthermore, we don't want to increase our likelihood of developing osteoporosis b eliminating dairy so that doesn't sound like such a great idea.
As for the gases, I was lucky I guess. Didn't have a problem at all with that..
Sandy
I have heard that consuming large amounts of dairy produce plays a part in the formation of ovarian cysts . There was a study done in Sweden about it, apparently drinking more than 2 glasses of milk a day or equivalents yoghurt, cheese etc can increase you chances of developing ovarian cysts . I do not know how much weight this discovery carries but it seems that if its not this then its that that we should avoid so a balanced diet seems more sensible to me.
Hope you find some answers
Best wishes Angie
For the gases take Ovol or GasX tablets, drink peppermint tea and walk. I haven't heard of a diet to help this but I do know that estrogen dominance can have a role in it. Google estrogen dominance and you will see some things you can do to help reduce that and some may be food related. Good luck with your recovery.
