I don't think that would happen. Imaging is not exact so they may think it's one type when it could be another.

A simple cyst is fluid-filled and a complex cyst normally has some fluid and some solid components. Another characteristic of complex cysts is the presence of septations. Multiple simple cysts may appear to be one complex cyst on ultrasound as the borders of the cysts may be misinterpreted as septations of one larger cyst. I hope that makes sense.

How large is your cyst and when was it discovered? What has your doctor recommended?

Thanks for responding firstly ...I have been to the doctor almost 2 and a half months ago, she said I have a 2 cm cyst on my right ovary, but I still have slight pains and stress a lot about it even though I try not to... she recommended the watchful approach ..can it take longer than a few months to shrink away?
Yes it can take longer than a few months. And even after it goes away, the pain may linger for a bit longer. If the cyst ruptures, it can be painful but not harmful. 2 cm is very small. Hoping it goes away soon and you feel better.
Thank you so much ... is there any foods etc that u could recommend that will help it shrink away?
I'm not aware of anything you can eat or do to shrink it. Some doctors prescribe birth control to prevent cysts and possibly to shrink them too but I'm not sure that's effective or a proven treatment.
