Can a complex ovarian cyst with a mild septation turn into a simple cyst?

I am a 46 yo perimenopausal woman experiencing pain during intercourse and my dr ordered an ultrasound the report came back a cyst on my right ovary with a mild septation, so she had me do a 6 week follow-up and the report says it is now a simple cyst. Just wondering if I should do anything else or just accept the news... my concern is that I’m still experiencing the pain.

Imaging (including ultrasound) is not exact so they can be mistaken as to the type of cyst. What is easiest to see is if the cyst is fluid filled or not. And of course simple cysts are fluid filled so it would seem that this recent u/s would be correct. Cysts can leak or rupture which can also cause pain and it can take awhile for the pain to resolve. Hope you feel better soon!
