You should know if it is cancerous!you`ve had your right one removed!Ask your doc.You must know why she is telling you for waiting until it becomes big .

I  had my left ovary removed from a very big cyst.Actually my appendicitis was grown too much and so reaching it and pricking it!I am taking care of my right ovary. My doc has told me to keep it under control every three months.the reason is:once you have cysts they will always appear !It`s a bit bothering actually but what it matters is keeping it under control!

Yes they can come back multiple times. I get them every two weeks. 4 months ago my doctor started me on a shot to control it and it is helping but I HATE the side effects. He said once I am off of it I will probably start getting them again which bothers me cause I get them so often and the get huge. I hope this helps any more questions just ask!

Hi.....
I had a cyst removed in september 2010 and started getting them again 2 weeks after and have still been getting them ever since. They are always 6cm to about 18cm big. I have sever pain with them. They put me on a shot and a pill to see if it works.
Good luck

I've never had a dermoid cyst. However, I have had surgery for cysts, and after the first surgery within a month I started with discomfort again, sure enough we later found out that I had cysts forming.

Are you taking the hormone pill(I'm assuming birth control) monthly and letting you have a period or are you taking it longer? I found taking birth control for the regular 21 days having period, didnt keep cyst away on left side. However taking it 3 months and then having a period worked. maybe discuss this with your doctor? I really hope this is resolved and you can find a way to have the cyst managed or gone without another surgery!

So sorry you're going through this!  Sounds like you're feeling pretty uncertain about your situation and that's never a comfortable feeling!  Just wanted you to know that I don't think people are ignoring your question, just that they probably don't have any experience with the situation you're describing and therefore nothing to suggest.  The only thing I can say is that if you're really uncomfortable with the care suggested then maybe seek out another opinion.  Tell your doctor that you wish to seek another opinion and then do it.  If the doctor is worth your time then they will fully support your desire for another set of eyes and experience to look over your case.  Ask your doctor if they have consulted anyone about your case, and if not, would they please ask a collegue to consult on your records.  In addition, seek out someone else, that way you get even more opinions.

Sorry I don't have more to contribute.  You can help the next person who is looking for information on your type of situation by posting follow-ups and information about how your case progresses, what works, what doesn't, how to get the information and care that you need.

All the best to you and hope that you will soon find the answers to better health!
