Complex Cyst and Leg Pain

Has anyone experienced upper leg pain (ache or pressure) on same side as their ovarian cyst?  Curious to know if there is a connection.  Thanks

I am 38 years old. I have fibroids and ovarian cysts. I had surgery twice to remove them and they came back each time. My first surgery was in 2004. Now it's 2010 and now I also have leg pain. One doctor told me it is bursitis. But I don't know if he is right, because it seems the pain is worst during ovulation. So I feel it's related to the reproductive area. I also have not had children.

There seems to be no answers out there. I even went to a specialist in GA. And I don't feel any better. I think we are just made to suffer until we decide to have a hysterectomy. But there is no guarantee that that would make it better.

I don't know anymore.

I kept going doctors to figure out the pain I was having in my left pelvic area. They found a complex, baseball-sized cyst on my right ovary and thought I was experiencing "referred pain." After laparoscopy to remove the cyst and take care of my endometriosis, the doctors hoped I would feel better. But the pelvic pain that sometimes radiated into my hip, leg, or back still continued. After five months of being almost bed-ridden, an orthopedist discoverd a labral tear in my left hip joint.

If all gyno things have been ruled out and you continue to hurt, you might want to check into this. I am two months post-op and doing MUCH better!

I too was searching for leg pain.  I was recently diagnosed with Ovarian cysts.  I thought my leg pain could have been blood clots associated with the birth control pills that my Gyn prescribed to try and shrink the cyst.  It is 36mm I believe.

Is this thread still open to comments? I searched for "thigh pain" and "ovarian cancer" and found this thread. I have been getting terrible thigh pain on the left side that also seems to make it weak and hard to walk. I assumed it was as yet undiagnosed muscle problem, until I realized that I had undiagnosed pelvic pain for 14 months, and the thigh pain seems to be worse during ovulation. That plus the fact that I think i'm getting some bleeding during ovulation last 4 cycles (hard to tell- looks like right before I get my period-a darkish discharge that looks dark yellow, so I can't be sure it's blood), made me suddenly make a connection. (Back when I first had the pelvic pain, they did do a sonogram. They said it was within normal limits, but I was never satisfied becuase the ovary was larger than on a previous sonogram. That's been quite a long time now...so if it is cancer theyll have no trouble at all finding it this time. I'm in  a new city, so getting a first appt. with a new GYN is going to take yet more time. (I also have unresolved cervical issues, and wonder if there's a connection too). Wish me luck...

I have cramping, a burning pain on the right side in my bikini line, and an ache in my right hip bone...and my cyst is on the right ovary, sounds like a connection to me.

That makes sense. The type of pain reminds me very much of sciatica, which I've had occasionally ever since my 2nd son was born.

I have those pains in my legs too. I know I have an 8cm+ fibroid in my uterus, and a 6cm+ on my right ovary, but I don't know yet if it is complex or not. I know it's painful though! Also playing the waiting game and it's killing me.

I too experienced "pressure" in the crease of my thigh along with lower pelvic pain.

Don't worry, I am just as frustrated as the next person.  My stress is stemming more from the "watch and wait" period that I am going through.  Two more weeks until next US.  Anyway, my leg pain is more of a throbbing feeling, sometimes accompanied by a shooting pain.  It is very similar to the pain I sometimes feel in my rectum.  Wierd!  I am actually hoping all of these aches and pains are related.  This way I can get rid of them all at the same time :)

Yes I have thigh pain that feels like it is being squeezed. Was on one side but sometimes when the pain is so intense it occurs in both. Don't know if it's really connected though. They say my cyst which is not attached to the ovary is shrinking. It is 4.81x3.1x4.6cm.  I also have a fixed adnexal mass stuck in a 4.1x2.5 adhesive pocket which they say is the most probable cause of the pain. All I can say is that something is sure causing the pain and it gets so painful that I can hardly walk or sit at my desk for very long. I have been in bed for the last few days & I feel so exhausted all the time. I have read your previous posts and I am also frustrated with the doctors and not getting answers!! So I am right here with you sister!! God bless and keep pushing for answers as that is exactly what I am doing. Although I say I am tired of all these doctor visits and tests! :)
