Complex Ovarian Cyst

Hi. I am 33 years old and  I have been in pain for 5 months now on and off. The pain has been really bad this week with weird bleeding(not period). They found yesterday on a transvaginal ultrasound a complex ovarian cyst 6.5 x 5.4. I have a surgery scheduled for Tuesday. My OB/GYN said she wants to take it out as soon as possible. I am nervous that it is cancer. I am tired a lot. Have shoulder pain. Leg pain. Loss of appetite. Belly is bloated. I just want the pain to go away so I am happy they found something. Any thoughts would be nice. Thanks!

I didn't know that - I'll have to remember that. My complex cyst is on left ovary....I have no left fall tube.

Thank you Sharon and have a nice weekend.

jdrjk:   Sorry to hear about your situation.  I also have a complex cyst.  I haven't had the bleeding tho.  My pain is more of a dull ache in my lower back, ab/pelvic, left hip and sometimes ribcage.  I do have the pressure and feeling of fullness, along with feeling "sick" from time to time......almost like morning sickness....comes and goes.  My complex cyst is 4.5 cm and will be doing another transvaginal sonogram on 10-23-08.

I wish you the best with your surgery and pray all is benign.

Sharon2714:  I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is the significance of standing on one foot?  Of course I had to "stand up" and try it!  Just wondering since I have a complex cyst too.

Have a great day.

Hi,

I know you are frightened but try to keep this in mind... 95% of all cysts are benign !! Just keep thinking that. Your age is on your side ! Did you Dr. give you any reason to think it may be malignant? Sometimes they have a "feel" for it..

Please try not to worry and let us know as soon as you're able.

Good luck,
Sandy

It is good that they found it and are not wasting any time doing something about it. Being nervous and scared is normal but try not to assume the worst. I hope you will keep us posted. The women on this site have offered me wonderful advice and support...you have come to the right place.  You will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless...Lynn
