Do most complex ovarian cysts require treatment?

I was diagnosed with a complex ovarian cyst last week and every possible negative thought has been running through my mind. I will see my GYN next week to find out what treatment, if any, will be necessary. But, of course, the fear of ovarian cancer is still causing me to loose sleep.

I'm sorry I just now saw your post. Have you seen your gyn yet? Most cysts resolve on their own, no intervention needed. And most, including complex ones, are benign. How large is yours? Imaging is not exact so they cannot always tell for sure if it's complex. If it gets too large and needs to be removed, you will want just the cyst removed (cystectomy) as removal of even one ovary can permanently impair ovarian function and the entire endocrine system since the ovaries are endocrine glands that produce health promoting hormones a woman's whole life.
