Dr disagrees that cysts cause pain!

Hello all, after reading over many other womens situations, I felt somewhat relieved, as I have 2 ovarian cysts both over 5cm and for about 10 days have been suffering from cramps and other nasty pains, from near my ribs down to my legs.  I asked my doctor today about the related pain, he outright said that those pains would NOT be caused from the cysts.  As I would have had these cysts for some time, why would I just start getting pain now, of course when I look back I have suffered for months even years in one way or another. You can imagine how dissapointed I felt.  Already I am on the border of crying which annoys me as I thought I was doing so well!  anyhow, I have my operation booked for July and I hope that that will also bring me relief from the pain.  Has anyhow else had this situation where their Dr disagrees?
Thanks to you all

Lol. Well i told him I was having pains. the analogy of a golfball inside a grape wasnt working for him to understand why it could possibly hurt. so after so much crying, frustration and anger, my mouth worked faster than my brain and i blurted it out. I think it caught his attn though.

They say what doesnt kill us makes us stronger... they forgot to mention all the pain and mental/emotional exhaustion we'll go through to be stronger. Lol.

Hope everything works out for you :)

Yes! My gyno disagreed with me. telling me that the cysts absolutely could not cause these pains. Needless to say, I got angry, cried and told him how about we expand his testies to almost 3 times thier normal size and tell me how he feels. He didnt appreciate that, as he had already gotten into an argument with my family dr as he wasnt taking me seriously that i was having pains again within a month after my laparoscopy.

After that, my gyno was good... til my 6 week post op appt this year. Then his bedside manner went to crap again.

Is this your family dr or a gyno?

Last year, my cysts were 5cm on left, and 7cm on right. And within a month, i had already had cysts forming again, that were 3cm on each. Onto birth control 3 months consecutively I went, it helped for the left ovary, however the right ovary didnt respond, and by Oct(6 months post laparoscopy) the cyst was up to 5cm.

Oh the emotions I went through(and still go through from time to time) because of this is trying and frustrating!! Good luck to your upcoming surgery next month. Hopefully this will be the end for you
