Im back!!

okay so the doctors appointment didn't go as well as i thought it would. I was told that my thigh and back pains have nothing to do with my cyst, i was also told that in order for those pains to go away i have to lose some weight. I have never in my life had these back and thigh pains before this damn cyst came along but my new doctor (the buttwhole he is) says the cyst isn't my problem. i haven't put on any weight so i know my weight isn't the problem since it hasn't been an issue at all in pain. he refuses to run any tests because he doesn't believe i am old enough to get cancer, he doesn't want to perform surgery because i'm young. i for one think this is ******** pardon my language but i think it should be removed im in pain and this jerk doesn't seem to get it through his thick head. He gave me pain meds and anti-biotics (for UTI) but unfortunatley i cant take the pain meds unless im home because they make me sleepy so i'll be in pain while im in school which *****!! he also did a vaginal exam and of coarse he poked around my ovary area and now im in a lot more pain =( some times i hate being a woman.

I'm not exactly jumping right to cancer but it does run greatly in both sides of my family so its a big concern to me because it runs in both sides especially in the women. There are very large traces of breast cancer and ovarian cancer in my family. i've already been checked for hernia, when i went to the e.r in pain that was the first thing they checked for and then found my cyst. and for the rest of you ladies thanks for the support. the pain was so bad this morning i couldn't walk so i couldn't go to school today, this is really affecting me and i may not graduate as soon as planned. when my mother gets home i'll show her the post's and talk to her about getting a second opinion, she herself doesn't want to wait this thing out and wants it gone. i'll keep you guys updated after i have a talk with my mom. thank you so much for the support you really are wonderful women.

is it possible that you have an inguinal hernia? they can cause leg, thigh, back pain. and that would require surgery to fix it.
dont automatically jump to cancer :( there could be another explanation that is much less serious than cancer.

but find another doctor and ask them to check for one. (an ultrasound will see it which is non invasive) just because you are female doesnt mean that you cant have an inguinal herina and  you dont have to have a bulge for it to cause pain.

Thank God MedHelp doesn't allow swearing as there sure is a heck of a lot of it coming out of my mouth right now.  I really get infuriated when some doctors are so misinformed.  YES, cysts can cause that pain.  YES, you can get cancer - there are several under 30 on our ovarian cancer forum.  This man should be turned into the medical board!  You really need to see a different doctor.  Unacceptable and criminal if this is more serious.

Ok, you need to find a new doctor ASAP!!  Your doctor is an idiot.  Obviously he didn't listen very well in school.  Ovarian cysts DO CAUSE BACK PAIN AND THIGH PAIN!!!  Unfortunately, cancer doesn't have a specific age.  He has not a clue!!  I'm sorry your appointment didn't go like you were hoping.  I know how bad it can hurt after an exam.  Try resting with a heating pad on your stomach and then switch to your back.  That helps me sometimes.  If it gets too bad, you can always go to the ER.  Maybe they could recommend a new gynecologist for you.  Hope you get feeling better soon!!

thats exactly what i was thinking! i don't want to have to go through cancer at this age so i'd rather get rid of the cyst before anything. some doctors think they know every little damn thing instead of checking everything and making sure things are okay he just dismisses my pain and says im too young wth kinda crap is that. yes i may only be 17 but the obviously truth is as you said michelle cancer does not have an age. I'm going to speak with my mother and see what we can do about getting another opinion asap.

I would get another doctor. I have been having issues since my surgery (removal of cyst) and I had to go to 3 doctors before 1 of them was right. He sounds like an idiot. Beleive me doctors can be idiots, my father is a perfect example of a doctor...who is umm may I say an idiot. Get another opinion!
