Incisional hernia/ovarian cyst

I am 36 years old 5ft 6 and weigh 13 stone before my last csection in 2014 I always was abit over weight around 11 stone since having my csection in 2014 also had a tubal tie at this time I noticed a small bump asked my doctor was told it was a hernia it became pretty large so I had a hernia repair in 2015 12 months after csection I was over the moon but had infection fluid was leaking from the wound and I was like this for two years at first the pain was impossible constant dressing changes antibiotics I stopped asking for the antibiotics myself because they just wernt working it would stop and the leaking would still carry on so what was the point so in aug 2017 this was repaired partial mesh removal mesh was replaced with another I did have one big leak but I was extra careful less active but again felt a small lump this time below my pubic bone on the right a consultant from the hospital not my consultant had told me not to worry I was just over weight I thaught fine but NO it’s a hernia and it’s quite large now bulging out my pubic area I’ve recently had a scan end of April 2018 I’ve just received a letter saying I need to have another ct scan as an ovarian cyst has been detected on my right ovary I’ve got that scan on 26th June I’m from the uk they haven’t said what size it is or anything yet I was just wondering if any one has any information on this also I will be referred to a different consultant as the consultant I’m under is retireing

I’m so sorry got abit confused.... After reading ur post I went to take another look at letter and the appointment is for a ultra sound on the 26th june not a CT Scan.. Will I find out any information during this scan do u know or will I have to wait for the consultant to take a look at the scan before I find out anything. Thanx

I don't know how that works where you live but in the U.S., the ultrasound tech typically isn't supposed to tell the patient anything. The patient has to wait for the doctor to review the results.

It's odd that they didn't tell you the size or the suspected type of cyst from the April scan. Was it a CT scan? Is there some reason they didn't do or won't do an ultrasound? CT scans emit radiation so they usually want to limit those.

Most ovarian cysts are benign and go away on their own. Let us know what more you find out.

I was already booked in for an CT Scan for the hernia so they can look what’s there when they must have noticed the cyst.
They haven’t said anything about an ultra sound but have booked me in for another CT on the 26th June.. I will leave further findings soon as I find out myself
