Hello. I am 40, have all the kids I want, and have a 10cm septated cyst on left ovary. The gyn/oncologist wants to remove the cyst with ovary and the uterus through vaginal laparoscopy. Forgive this, but I don't want to give up uterine orgasms, and given the CA-125 is 15, the cyst looks mostly simple (one thin septation, no solid areas), I am wondering why I would need to have the uterus removed. I have had two prolongued periods, which led me to the gyn for the checkup, which led to the us that found the cyst, but don't have a really long history of long periods. The gyn thinks the longer periods may be due to perimenopause and wants to spare me years of prolongued bleeding. Is this really necessary?
