Is this all linked following ruptured cyst?

I had a ruptured cyst on my right ovary in March of this year and I don't seem to have been right since ! I am wondering if the rupture and subsequent fluid in my abdomen can cause the following after effects?. I am scheduled for an abdominal CT scan on the 19th a I have a tenderness and palpable swelling of my ascending colon on my right side, I am still pretty much constipated all the time, tummy seems larger or bloated and I have put bit of weight in despite not drastically changing what I eat, I have now had cystitis like symptoms for a week which despite my drinking lots of water etc does not seem to want clear up.  From the research I have done, I have think there can be a link between rupture and stuff going on now - like scar or adhesions on my bowel from the rupture, something called interstitial cystitis can be linked to cysts  etc, just wondered of anyone else has had these experiences, and can tell me what to expect for the CT scan . The gastroenterologist also ordered a load of blood tests, one of which was for the CA125  I noticed on the sheet , though he didn't tell me that the test was going to be done, I just knew what it was from been on this forum !! Any thoughts really welcom, thankyou all

Hi there I had spotting back in February along with a clear watery fluid almost like my water had broke and I'm not pregnant.  That's what made me go to the gyno in the first place he said cysts don't cause spotting that they are absorbed into the abdominal cavity so I still don't have any idea what that was from.   They might have cancelled your appointment because your CA125 was good so no need to rush.  Mine was 80 so I am now going to the city which is 11/2 hours away to see the oncologist/gyno about my cyst because I didn't want the gyno himself to do the operation.  I am really freaked out now.  This is all so scary and I have to be strong for my girls which are 11 and 14.

Hi, Just wondered of you had any after effects from all the stuff they give you for the CT scan? I was on my way to work this morning and got completely caught short with an episode of diarhoea. It was awful and had to call someone to take me home. The scan was over 20 hours ago though ??!! Not sure if it was all the stuff they gave me or just part of what is going on with my bowel etc?

Sorry to be so graphic, but I guess that is he point of this type of forum!

Thanks

I cannot have a lap due to two previous abdominal surgeries that's why he wants to wait and see instead of a big surgery if it is just a cyst.  I wonder if a cyst would really cause these constant symptoms every night.  The constant movement around my left ovary is driving me insane.  It's like never having any inner peace.

The feeling from the dye is definitely weird and the drink is awful for the CT scan. It's definitely important to play it safe and get help if you think you are having a problem. I frequently grow cysts, have fibroids on my appendix, and a little endometriosis. It's important to remember that there are going to be some chronic symptoms that go along with reproductive problems. The only time I have relief from my gastro problems is right after a lap. If you are still having a lot of problems I would find a doctor who will give you a lap so they can see exactly what is going on. Then you will know and it will help put your mind at ease. Unfortunately it's not a long term solution. It's life and we can all make it through this if we stick together!

I know it is very worrying, more often than not you feel like you are loosing your mind and imagining things !!! I am pretty sure that my rupture has caused the issue now with my bowel/ascending colon, having read up a lot I am thinking that it may be scarring or adhesions or something. I just want to know what's going on!! I will have my CA125 result on the 6th August , I am worried too so I totally understand. I feel pretty sure that there is nothing serious going on , but I just want that deffinate statement from someone !! All the best andet me know how you get on .

Hi there, I'm sort of relieved to hear someone else is going through the same thing.  I was told I have a hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary.  I'm pretty sure it broke back in February because I had alot of symptoms going on which led me to the doctor.  When I went to see the gyno on March 31st he sent me for a ultra sound and then I was given a transvaginal one.  It showed 2 cysts one on each ovary.  I went back and the gyno said they were too small to be causing all these stomach problems that I should go see a gastroentologist.  I already had one since I have had colitis for years.  I then was sent by the gyno for another ultra sound and he said the cyst on my right ovary had grown to 5cm.  Opps that could be causing my symptoms after I already told the gastro that they were too small to be causing my symptoms.  I am going next week for a ct scan and have to drink the gastro graffin also with IV.  I see the gyno this week for the results of the CA125 so I'm nervous.  I am getting so worn out from all this I just want it to stop.  I can't stand all this worry and unknown, it's pure torture.  I feel like I'm on the verge of tears most days.  I'm not sure if it's from not knowing or having all these stomach problems or if it is knocking my hormones completely out of wack.  It is sooo nice to have this site to refer to because these gynocologist don't seem to understand any of it.

So had the CT scan today , it was fine actually, don't know what I was so worried about !! I had gastrografin yesterday , then a jug if more contrast material to drink today just before I went it and an IV of dye when I was actually on the scanner. The dye was a little wierd and caused a strange sensation throughput my body , but it didn't last long. Just the wait for the results now on the 6th August.

Thankyou for your replies. I will let you know how it goes, and I go to see the consultant for results on the 6th August, so not too long to wait. I'm now on antibiotics for the cystitis , but it doesn't seem to be totally going :-/ I'm anxious about having the actual CT scan but I'm sure it will be fine. It I'd wierd though because you do get totally paranoid !! Best wishes

I hate to say this but many times cysts come back.  I think you should see a doctor again if you have problems.  Good luck!
