Is this ovarian cyst related?

I have severe ovulation pains every month.  My hair is thinning.  I have a period every month, although lighter the last few months.  Diarrhea/soft stools alternating with constipation (I also have pelvic prolapse).  Bloated, indigestion.

Yes, I would suspect an ovarian cyst or thyroid disorder based on the symptoms.  It is very important to get checked and rule out a complex cyst.  I was only 37 when I had similar changes and did end up having ovarian cancer.  Both benign and malignant cysts can cause the same symptoms.  So, it is a wonderful idea for you to see you gyn!  Best wishes!

Hi Laurel,

How old are you?  If you are under 40 then I would suspect endometriosis or a thyroid issue.  If you are 40-50, then perimenopause is a possible cause.  But, ovarian cysts at any age can change your hormones and cause these types of symptoms.  Unfortunately, no two ovarian cysts show themselves in the same way.  So, it is hard to say without having tests to rule out all other causes.  In general the list of symptoms you describe sound like they could be related to menopause.  But, if you are under 45, then that is less likely.   I think you should definitely see your gyn and have some tests to determine the cause.  Welcome to the forum! :)
