Ovarian Cyst or Cancer?

I went to the ER a few weeks ago for abdomen pain. They ruled out all the usual and then came across a cyst on my right ovary and possible torsion. I went for a followup the next day where my ob/gyn had me do a CA125 test. We spoke about watching the cyst followup with a u/s 4 weeks later. In the meantime the CA125 came back at 728. I have reached out to   gyn/onc. I have an appt in two weeks. Should I be concerned about cancer? Could it just be the cyst? Would I have other syptoms?

The CA-125 test is not supposed to be used to diagnose ovarian cancer as there are too many false positives. I'm surprised how many doctors check it.

Ovarian cysts are common and most resolve on their own within a few months. However they are one condition that can cause an elevated CA-125 test causing undue anxiety and putting women at risk for unnecessary surgery and organ removal causing lifelong harm.

Let us know what you find out from gyn/onc. Hoping it's just one of those pesky benign cysts as most are.
Will do ! Thx this is very comforting.

Please have this taken care of asap. I had a torsion from a dermoid cyst and they (my local er) rushed me to a special hospital to have it removed as well as my ovary and fallopian tube. It was the worst pain in my life. If it ruptures then you will have bigger problems. Good luck.
