Ovarian cyst rupture question...help

I am a 31 year old mom of two who eight days ago had an ovarian cyst rupture.  I woke up with this pain that brought me to my knees.  As days pass the pain comes in episodes and eases up.  I have had no fever or vomiting.  they ran a catskan which found the ruptured cyst.  Today I found out via ultrasound that cyst is gone but still some fluid in abdominal cavity.  How long will it take for pain to be gone since cyst is now gone?  I miss my normal everyday life.

Btw the heating pad give relief but seemed to make pain episodes last longer.  i find a hot shower relieving.  the pain meds help but hate the way they make you feel.

Thanks so much for the advice!!!!  I have noticed the pain episodes are happening less and since the cyst is gone I should see recovery soon.  I will take my Align tonight.  I never thought to use my probiotics during this.  I will give it a whirl and report back.

So sorry to hear you're in such pain.  I can only tell you what I experienced, and that for me the pain lasted episodically for about 3 weeks and then tapered off quickly.  Worst pain was while "passing" anything (feels like giving birth).  Be extra careful not to get constipated.  Increasing probiotics (drinking kefir, eating sauerkraut) seemed to help speed up the healing.  No pain meds helped, and heat (for me) made it feel worse, although I've heard that it helps some people.  Be patient and take it easy on yourself!  It feels like forever, but it really does get better.  All the best to you!
