Ovary and Dermatoid cyst removal

I am 31 and recently had a 9cm dermatoid cyst and right ovary and tubes removed.
For 11 years I have used the mirena coil and had a few issues, extreme IBS problems and constipation(which i took laxative up to 8 times a day and still wouldn't go to the toilet for 7 days), thrush, emotional issues -depression and anxiety that got worse over time, bloated tummy, unable to reduce weight, acne breakouts at times, fatigue, sickness and more. While on the coil i never had a period.
I had the coil removed April 2013 as i just felt a number of my symptoms maybe due to the coil. Once the coil was removed i had no more thrush problems for a start. However i have yet to wait to have a period. June 2013 i had my surgery as i mentioned at the start. Since the surgery i can now have a poo average 3 times per day so this is fantastic!!!! i am over the moon!!!! however since the surgery i have had 3days very dark brown discharge instead of blood -no period. I am worried about this and went to my doctors this week for blood and urine test...so waiting results!!!
i am worried that i am not having red bleeding or periods, only 3 days brown blood last week. I am worried that i am not ovulating? I have also become very depressed and emotional over the last week, is this from the operation. i am also having hot flushes at night and during the day. please help has anyone experienced this after having an ovary and cyst removed, i am not looking to have children for at least another year or more..maybe when i am 33yrs old. but i am worried i wont be able to have children cause things do not seem right.
Can i also not that before i had the coil in i suffered really bad from cervical erosion and had to have treatment where they froze the first layer of skin of the inside of my womb/cervix area. i had this treatment for 2-4 years every 6months? i am worried about this also causing problems as i believe i have scaring on my cervix from what the consultant has said.

Hello,
Thanks for the additional information. Milky discharge from the breasts is called galactorrhea. Galactorrhea occurs because your body is making too much prolactin. It can occur in a hormonal imbalance, such as from taking birth control pills, hypothyroidism, chronic breast stimulation, such as from frequent breast self-exams or sexual activity and rarely in hypothalamic disorders.

An elevated prolactin level tends to cause menstrual irregularity as well as unexplained milk production. If the prolactin level is confirmed to be high, an MRI is usually ordered to check for a prolactinoma.
Brown bleeding can be considered a period but an abnormal one.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you for your message.
I am definitely can not be pregnant. The doctor in hospital and myself have done 3pregnancy test prior to operation. ( 24th June 2013- right ovary and tube and dermatoid cyst removed). Have not had unprotected sex since operation.
I had mirena coil removed in April 2013 - do you think the reason why I am not having periods could be due to hormones still inside my body from the coil. If so how long does it take for periods to come back after removal of the coil. I never had periods for 11 years while on the coil.
Or do you think the reason for not having periods could be link to cyst inside my body which was just removed on 24th june 2013 - if it's related to dermatoid cyst that now been removed how long does it take for the remaining ovary or periods to normally come back.

I didn't mention before but I have breast that leak a milky/clear fluid for over 10years. Do you think this could be related to dermatoid cyst and now it has gone will it get better. Or have I got more chance of getting another cyst. Also if the breast leak is this more likely to cause other issues. I head it can be related to the piturity gland. I am actually seeing a specialist on the 14th to discuss my breast leaking. I did see a consultant 10 years ago but they gave me some tablets and said it would get better. It didn't do anything and they said it would go away but it never did and am just worried that its causing the problems related to why I got the big cyst on my ovary.

Also if I only bleed brown blood, is this a period or not.

Worried and unsure, looking for answers so I can get the correct help from consultant/ doctors.  How long does it take for hormones to settle after having a ovary ,removed. Thank you so much.... Will keep everyone updated with everything I know.

Hello,
It is true that cervical erosion can cause scarring of the cervix. But delayed periods in your case seem to be due to the ovarian cysts. However other causes of delayed periods (other than ovarian cyst) also need to evaluated.

Delayed or missed period is known as amenorrhea. Apart from pregnancy, there are many other reasons for a delayed period. The other causes are hormonal imbalance like in PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome), stress, obesity, malnutrition, anemia, hypothyroidism, illness, etc. The only way to know whether you are pregnant is to get a pregnancy test done. You can do a home pregnancy test by using a pregnancy kit easily available at chemists.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
