PMDD?

I was just curious to see if anyone else has had problems with severe PMS (or PMDD), along with their diagnosis of complex ovarian cysts? My cycle has been irregular for the past 6 mths. (been 3 mths. since my last period) I am 48 yrs. old, so I know this can be expected at this age. Also, I had light bleeding for 6 weeks in this time, which prompted making the appt. with the gyn/onc. But it seems when I start having symptoms of starting my period, (which I am now)... I have started having alot of anxiety issues. When I wake up in the morning, my hands are shaking lately... I start getting short of breath at times (panic problems)...my thinking is not very rational at times, etc. I think I could LIVE on chocolate right now  ;)   (and I usually don't even care for it, believe it or not)... I just feel like I am a total mess!   :(   I am not the type of person who usually shares this type of info. with people, but it is getting to the point where I can barely function normally. I did put in a call to my gyn/onc to see if it could be indirectly related to the cysts I have (7 cm on RT and 2 cm on LT). Of course, I am also under alot of personal stress at the present and am anticipating a complete abdom. hysterectomy in the near future, which also is adding to the stress. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem?
Thanks for any insight.
Cheryl

Thanks for your response. Perhaps it is the perimenopausal syndrome... dunno. Maybe it won't be so bad to lose these ovaries after all, eh?  ;)

I didn't have the problem before my cysts but a few months after I had debilitating hot flashes, anxiety, shaking, panic attacks, anger and irritability.  I was really afraid I was going to say or do something entirely uncharacteristic and very rude to someone.  When my period came it all stopped.  It has been 2 months since and all has been fine.  I think it was my body trying to get the remaining ovary to kick in and take over.  Some cysts can affect your hormones so it may be simliar for you.
