Please can someone help me... could this be cysts?

Hi

I have been having some problems since dec when I started getting pains that felt like I was on a really heavy period and I had bad back pain. This continued and I started getting a really bloated stomach.

I have been to the doctors and was told it was IBS and shoved out the door. I have read up on IBS, have dieted and used a food diary. Nothing has changed and I cannot see any pattern in regards to my food.

In less than 6 months I have put on 16 lbs which is very usual for me as I am slender everywhere else. I tried dieting for a month and nothing changed at all.

My stomach is that bloated I look pregnant and people have asked me if I am. I am not. The bloating is always there, sometimes worse than others but it is always there.

I feel exhausted all the time, the kind of exhausted you are when you have the flu and you just dont want to move or anything and I ache. This has been a continous symptom which the doctors say is probably cause im a busy mum.

I have continued to get abdominal pains where my abdomen is painful to touch, sharp pains where is presume my right ovary is and I have had spotting between my period. The bloating is still persistant.

I recently pushed for bloods to be taken, they have all come back clear including the test for ovarian cancer. My doctor has now agreed that this needs investigating.

I am on the mini pill and read that Ovarian cysts are a side effect and hoped that someone would be able to tell me the above symptoms sound like cysts.

Sounds like the symptoms I'm experiencing with ovarian cysts as well.
The "tender to the touch" is usually after it ruptured.
I'd go to the doctor and insist for an ultrasound to check it out.

There are the exact symptoms I had for 7 whole months while being misdiagnosed with bladder infections.  Turns out I have two Ovarian Cysts and one is as big as my uterus.  I have learned from this to demand other testing when you feel like something is just not right.  I am so glad I finally went to my OBGYN and got a trasnvaginal ultra sound...get that done so you know if something is wrong inside!

You should ask to have an Ultrasound right away to get some answers.  You could have Ovarian Cysts which are nothing to fool around with unless they cause no pain....trust me - they rupture and can cause way more pain and possible complications.  You also sound like you might have a lot of Fibroids - maybe a lot of lttle ones.  Your symptoms sound similar to mine - and that was my problem also at one time,  Dozens of little Fibroids with one big one on my left Ovary.  Just get the Ultrasound - OK?  :-)
