Pre-op appointment this morning.
Well, the time has finally come for my pre-op appointment. I have a list of questions to ask and have been fasting for the blood work for today. I go for my appointment at the hospital at 8:30 and to see my doctor at 10:45. I hope I come home feeling a bit less nervous. I haven't been able to sleep the last few days. Maybe she can prescribe something that will help me sleep. I'll let you all know what I find out!
Hi Jammin50. I have had both vertical and horizontal incisions and I though that the vertical one was harder to recover from, but I also had more going on than just ovarian cysts. I had paratanitis and had to have my ureter tube replanted into my bladder. I think having 2 surgeries in 4 days didn't help. I have heard some say they thought horizontal was easier and others say vertical. I think it is just how well your body handles the cuts. I will be praying for a great outcome to your surgery as well!!
I'm glad your post-op went well. I'm suppose to have the bikini cut...just curious...does vertical or horizontal heal about the same - or is one easier to deal with than the other?
My hyste 15 years ago was laparascopic, so this is a new thing for me. I'm 20 days after you...so once you've had your op and are able to get online, I'll be looking for a commentary. :)

your high blood sugar may have been because you didn't eat anything my grandma has diabetes and when she doesn't eat her blood sugar gets high. i wish you good luck with your surgery i'll be praying for you
i cant belive how quick your time has come around ,i always think of gina when some one is waiting she said she woke up in the middle of the night and felt like a convict fellon i laugh when i think of it ,i will be in touch with you for your count down x
Thanks ladies. I feel better, but my sugar is high. My meds don't seem to be working, but they think it is because of all of the stress of tsurgery and because of the cyst. I feel a lot better about having the surgery. She will be doing a vertical incision to make sure that she has a better view of my abdomen. She is also having a general surgeon in the OR with her. Let the countdown begin!! 5more days!!
