Ovarian mass

Has anyone ever had an ultra sound done and the tech says there is something the same size as your ovary attached to it but has no idea what it is?  It looked just like the ovary, same size and all...any ideas? i have family history of ovarian cancer, breast cancer and tumors. How important is that factor? Any assistance would be helpful. I have a week and half til my follow up, but Im going crazy thinking about it.  Thank you

Hi clynnohio,

I just read your comments. The techs aren't allowed to tell you what they
see even if they know.  Just because your family has a history of ovarian
cancer doesn't mean you will get it. It could be a cyst or a polyp maybe.
I hope your follow up will be helpful for you in finding out what this ovarian
mass is. Remember to ask lots of questions during your follow up. I wish
you well. Evewisewoman ( Eve :)   )

When I had my ultrasound done they said the same thing but they did it again at a later date and it turned out to be a cyst
