foliciles in the ovary, means....
Your ovaries are full of eggs before they are called eggs....The ovaries each month will produce many foliciles, most will stop growing and the body will absorb them, others will grow and when it is time for your body to ovulate, (prepare to have a baby), the foliciles will pop out of your ovary and at that time they are called eggs,
Sometimes the foliciles will not pop out and your ovary could actually turn that folicile into a cyst. The cysts will sometimes rupture and that is really painful, if it happens alot, then you may have PCOS, (which I also have),
One way to tell if you have it, is have your doctor check your fasting insulin test, and if it comes back high they will need to put you on metformin. Once on metformin your ovaries should stop producing cysts, I know mine did, every now and then I will get one but it is far less painful.
Another way to tell if you have it, you will have hair growing on the tops of your feet, under your chin, around your nipples, below your belly button, maybe not all these locations but it is possible. If you have moles around your neck could also indicate it too.
Hope this is helpful.
I am so sorry to hear you are in pain. Your recent findings could just be a temporary condition at this time...perhaps due to a hormonal change or imbalance. Or, you may have something else going on like PCOS. Those with PCOS often have many small cysts that make the ovary appear "bulky.". Birth control pills sometimes help balance hormones and get rid of small cysts. But, you will have to wait to see what your doctor recommends. Cysts can be painful and they tend to recur and be a longstanding problem for women who get them. For me, heat packs and ibuprofen helped the most for pain. Good luck to you!
