ob/gyn sending me to onco/gyno w/ normal ca125 / 9

why is this ? if my ca125 is normal at 9 ratio 0-35  my functional cyst 3 mo ago in  june was pea sz is now an ill defined margin  of 2.4 cm x 2.1 cm x1.9 cm  mass no adnexal masses no free fluid , ovary 4.4 cm x 2.2 cm x 2.2 cm hypoechoic  non vascular non calcified with ill defined margins , why the visit? i have no menopasal symptoms my hx hyst //cervix/ rt ovary / appendix removed 1994 adenomyosis no ca , so i just have this ovary mild achy side battling IBS or celiac intolerence , with normal tsh ,have multi-nodual goitor with hypo symptoms ? or is it obgyn? on synthyroid 37.5 mg 50.000iu vit d 1 x wk cardura and zantac 150 mg , gastroscope removed hyperplastic polyp 9/08 benign , 2 yrs ago removed 5 polyps same dx and a gallbladder with polyps?  removed 3/07 so whats up??help.. remove ovary now or watch and wait?

I am sorry that I did not get a chance to answer you sooner. I had a Drs appointment and starting chemo again after a week off. This is the first time I have felt like answering posts. If your cyst is begnin, even if it should begin to leak, it would not leak out cancer cells. If your Dr does not seem interested in operating on you, then don't push it. I would rather have a gyn/onc do the surgery even if it turns out not to be cancer. I think he would do the most thorough job.
  I am also sorry that I cannot help you much on the cyst issue as I have not had a lot of experience with them. The only time I had one, when I went back to the Dr a week later, it was gone. He said it was not unusual for a cyst to develope a small hole and it would go away. But from reading what many of the other girls have to say, they can be very painful.
  If the pain gets to be too much and you are ok with 800mg motrin, you can always try taking 1 and a 1/2 to help keep it under control.
   I am curious as to the results of your test. Please let us know what you find out.

see the relief ob gyn dr at 1;30 thur he said he was going to do a CBC and see what was up and he said my flubber belly seemed ok even though my whole belly hurts to walk and wiggle my guts so his internal said it seems ok when are you seeing the ono gyno and i said 11/10 unless you find you want to take her out now ? he didn't seem to interested in operating on me hes pushing for the obgyn  onoc my GF told me an U/S tech/ that my cyst of june could of started leaking for oct and thats why it has the jagged edges so thats my update drinkin my first cuup of joe at 4 42  the dr said why din't you eat anything and i said i am so sick and if you were going to operate i want an empty stomach! he said do you want any pain pills and i said no i take motrin 800mg if i have too  i don't like medication and he said oh do you want anything stronger and i said NOPE i'm allergic to all kind of medication so i stay natural if i can ok hot pad rest and eat i will get the test results tmw and see what happens then

on my way to the local obgyn at 130 thur s I  woke up 3:30 this am with abdominal pain pressure nausea  , trigger pains sometimes its dull sometimes its sharp i had a BM  and paiin is still present so r/o diverticulosis flare up or my ovarian cyst mass  raisin  havoc  i called the cancer dr they said they can only consult with my obgyn as i am not established yet, never a dull moment since i can' go on antibiotics  outpatient surgery or  in patient ya never know with me! so i rather get this out before it ruptures and have cancer cells floating around so ttyl

help i woke up 3.30 am with pain gas nausea on my left side, ovary or diverticulosis? i have both with IBS or celiac ? of late a constant achy tingling sensation on side   my onoc/gyno is sched 11/10 they want all my cats and mri so now this i'm calling both gyno's and see , i'm electing removal  stat as i don't want this cyst/mass breaking and throwin possible ca cells out now call me paranoid! or safe   whats the opinions or dr opinions now?

  I agree that it sounds like your Dr is sending you to a gyn/onc just to be on the safe side. For many the CA125 is not a reliable test, esp if you have not been diagnosed. It is more reliable for women who have already been dx and had an elevated reading at the time. Then it is more normally used to keep track of the disease and any progress it might be making.

Hi, my guess is that with all your readings and possible dx that your gyn is sending you to see the gyn/onc to get a 2nd opinion.  This is a good thing.  

As far as your questions about waiting vs removal, that is something you must discuss with your doctor.  Do you have the appointment already?  

I saw your reply to an earlier post and mentioned the CA-125 being most reliable for post menopausal women or those on chemo.
