Just to put your mind at ease, I am a little overweight too and I have had 11 surgeries in the last nine years.  It can make the risks a tad higher, but your doctor would not be doing it if he thought it was unsafe.  You will need some help when you get home from the hospital.  You will be down for about 6-8 weeks.  Please make sure that you follow the doctor's orders.  I'll be looking forward to hearing that you are home and doing well sometime next week.
