please help me make up!

Im 32 and i have been through hell and back with cysts on my overies i have had 6 surgeries in the last 6 years from very large cysts. The doctors talked me out of them removing my overies 4months ago when i had my last surgery. I jad a 10cm cyst on my left overy that was in tortion state. Ok so doctors conformed i have another 5cm on my right overie and they sent me home friday and told me to come back if i cant stand the pain. Well after working all weekend i i feel like going back to the er tonight becauce i know its gotten larger. So my question is do u think i should have them remove both of my overies? So this dosent happen again? Or do u think i should have them just remove my right overie? Please give me ur input. Im so confused on what to do!

Welcome to the community. I am sorry you are dealing with these recurring cysts. How frustrating that must be! Removal of the ovaries is associated with quite a few increased health risks and reduced quality of life. That is because the ovaries (and the uterus) have lifelong functions. The ovaries are shown to produce hormones up to at least age 80 and every cell in our bodies needs these hormones for proper functioning.

This all became VERY CLEAR to me after my ovaries were removed. I aged horrifically fast. I lost most of my hair, sections turned gray, and what's left became fine and frizzy, my skin collagen and subcutaneous fat disappeared leaving me with very old looking skin - prominent veins, prominent bones, wrinkling, sagging, my gums receded and started bleeding, my vision became blurry, my muscle mass disappeared. And those were just the obvious aging effects. There were many other symptoms that cropped up. And this was with hormone "replacement."

If you are seriously considering this, please be sure to review the many medical studies on "bilateral oophorectomy long term health." Pubmed or Google Scholar are good sources.

Best of luck to you in getting proper treatment.

Yes i take low estrin continuously. It took my periods and my pain from the periods away all together. Since the birth control took away my periods i got my hopes up thinking my body wouldn't form anymore cysts and i was wrong
