recovery from ovarian cyst removal.

Hi everyone,
I have been feeling unwell for over a year now with various symptoms, all of which have been made worse by stress and anxiety.
I have also been told I could be possibly climacteric after some blood results were sent back to my fertility specialist. I am awaiting a cyst removal op at the moment from my left ovary which is 10 cm. Because I have been feeling so unwell, we dont know whether it is the cyst that is causing it due my hormones being all over the place, or whether I have made my symptoms worse with all the worry etc.
I just wondered if there was anyone out there in a similar situation, who had had their cyst removed already.
I just want to know if once it is removed, will I start feeling myself again, and if so, what sort of time scale are we talking before I can expect to feel more human?
I know everyone is different but Ive felt so rough of late, I just want to be better.
Any info would be great
Thanks
Vic

Dear Vic,

I share the same pain. Im 32 going 33. After two years of full surgery episode, i really hope i do not need any other surgery after this. I really hope no re-occuring fibroid/cyst. Me and my husband also look forward to have babies... something is missing when there is no child voice at home.. it turns to be a lonesome.

Anyhow, my GYN advice me to start trying for babies.. only by conceiving, our production factory will have a break, and this will slow the possibility of re-occuring fibroid/cyst.

I pary for you Vic and me for a healthy baby soon, May God Bless you and you can get back on your two feet after surgery (no matter what type of surgery, still it affects out health entirely).

Take good care of yourself, will soon share with you on some supplements i take to help maintain my health. All the best

Thank you for your replies.
I wont know whether I will be having key hole surgery or open surgery yet. The surgeon will do a laparoscopy first to see if there is any other damage to my ovaries etc, depending on what he finds and what needs removing, then he will decide on which surgery to do. So I wont know until I wake up, which sort of op Ive had. Im hoping its done keyhole, then my recovery will be far quicker, because I have quite a physical job. Im also hoping that they dont take anything else away seeing as we have been trying for a baby for over 2 years now with no success. We  are hoping by getting rid of this cyst, it will make me a bit more fertile. Has anyone got any info on that point???
Im 34 , nearly 35 and sometimes I feel that the dream of having my first child, is slowly slipping away.
Does anyone recommend any vitamins/suppliments that boost fertility for both of us and sperm count/quality for men?

Thanks for any info
Vic

Hi,

I really understand what you feel right now. I have been through that phase in my life, fingers crossed it will not come again.

I had my ovarian cyst surgery last october (a year before that i had my uterine fibroid removed). It means i had 2 major surgery under the jurisdiction of 'woman health' if i could say so.

It is really traumatised, it is really full of paranoid moment. However when the time come, v have to cross the bridge, arent we? i have to take one step at at time although i dont know how, emotionally i wasnt able to balance it.. not at all, sometimes, i cried, sometimes i felt like giving up, sometimes, i felt like i can handle it.. many feelings which me myself cant handle it positively or negatively, you see..if i cant be strong to go through this, how could people around me help me with it right?

No matter what, You have to trust in God, He surely listen and help u. Since i have underwent my uterine fibroid surgery a year before i had my second surgery that is ovarian cyst, i can somehow see how the process will be. Something to share, whatever happen, happen for a reason.. although it is really scaring me emotionally, i manage to go through it. It is a bluff if i said, there's no pain at all.. but i supposed adult like us can handle that... the pain is bearable, or i can say if the hospital practice good pain management, then u would be just fine. I was about 4/5 days warded, i walked on the 2nd day after the suregry, i vomit couple of times due to anesthetic, after they remove the IV tube, i ate normally and really enjoy hospital food :) the downside is only that i have a problem to past motion, i had a terrible constipation.

the recovery period at home was ok.. u need a really good rest and need to have someone to help you perhaps for the 1st two week until u r strong to walk and get your foods (it doesnt mean that you cant walk), u need to move around slowly so that the healing process will take effect fast. also, dont do house chores, avoid it... it will prolong the recovery period. What i did was eat and sleep, walk a bit here and there..
eat healthy food, high in vit to help you recover fast.

after two weeks you would feel much better, after a month you could definitely go out sociallizing :)

a word of advice, since you have had surgery, make sure u lead a healthy lifestyle after this, take supplememt to replace the nutrition u lost during surgery and recovery, go organics if necessary., xenoestrogene is killing us women!

All the best, enjoy your recovery holidays
