Flashbacks and body memories

I was raped for three years by a family member. I am away from him starting my new life but I'm having trouble being alone and staying present in the time at night.   Sometimes I don't remember at night what I do or who I've called or written on the internet or trying.   But it only happens at might.  I'm in therapy but I don't know how to discuss it with my shrink.  Has anyone else ever experienced this type of reactions with ptsd?

If night time is the most stressful for you, you may be just logging in on the internet or talking talking talking just to keep the stress at bay.  I would certainly tell your therapist what is going on as there are alot of positive things you can do when you are scared or lonely....

You can also check your computers History to see where you go at night, if it is facebook, you can always read your old posts and determine what is the common theme of your nighttime writings.

I do wish you the very best of luck in your recovery

That is a new one for me.  Are you taking any drugs (legal or illegal) in the later part of the day or early evening?  If so, this could be your problem.  See your doctor if it is drug-related.  Otherwise, you know your shrink is not allowed by law to talk about you to anyone, so just tell him, like you told us here.  I'm sure he can help you as long as your problem is not a physical one -- speaking of which, you should see a doctor to make sure it's NOT physical.  Blessings - Blu
