Please help me with this panic attack!!

I am having this huge unexpected rush of adrenaline going thru my body after I stood up from mundane project for a client on the laptop. Not like my usual attacks which have something I am terrified about--just felt like someone injected me with speed.  I take very small doses of Nuvigil (to keep from falling asleep)  and Xanax to calm me down.  I take those dose in the early morning and I take 1X day Synthroid at noon.  I had my Synthroid checked 3 weeks ago.  I have been sluggish and relaxed today. up to now. I go for my 2nd therapy appt. tomorrow.

It feels super alert and doing things very fast.  My friend who I called said I was scrunched up at the computer and probably holding in my usual muscle groups--pecs, upper arms, abdomen (like diaphragm) and jaws, and my tongue pressed against my front teeth, and probably not breathing very fully, due to the fact that I tend to focus on what's in front of me to depersonalize, and I'm OCD too. Then when I stood up and stretched, all that 02 came rushing out of those areas.

Anyone else breathe way out when not paying attention, and then just hold your abdomen and not breathe alot?

I live alone and need your support. Tell me about your attacks--like this, or another version, and how you got thru it.
I depersonalize, so it's REALLY hard to self-talk about this, because it triggers it all over again!!!

Pretty much my body goes into alert-adrenaline mode.  I start hyperventilating and my heart rate increases and I get cold sweats and sick to my stomach where I totally lose my appetite and all kinds of pleasant things like that.  Having flat affect, I don't really show any of the emotions behind it.  Deep breathing seems to help a little bit if you do it before you reach panic attack mode if you even get a warning before hand which I sometimes don't.  I was told to breathe in a paper bag if I start having a panic attack.  There is some stuff you can do to teach your mind to know you aren't experiencing a life threatening event when you have a panic attack but I didn't pay attention to the techniques because I already am used to having panic attacks and know I'm not dying during them.

I am so sorry you are having a panic attack, please know that you are not alone in this!  I have been semi free from panic attacks for 5 years up until 3 weeks ago.  I also take Xanax to take the edge off.  I have been feeling short of breath this whole time.  I just woke up from a nap a few hours ago with my heart pounding out of my chest for no reason.  I got up & could feel the adrenaline flowing through my whole body.  I usually take a Xanax & try my best to tell myself that it's just my body hitting the false alarm of the fight-or-flight response and even though it is terribly frightening I have been through them before & it WILL end.  I know it is hard to self talk but maybe you could call a friend who can talk you through it.  I have been trying deep breathing techniques too & have found it helpfull.  Be strong & feel free to reach out to me for help my friend.  You WILL get through this :)
