30 year pain history

I need help.  I just had a "Stimulator" removed from my back.   I have lost count of the neck and back operations.  I think I've had 12.  My "pain" doctor is upset with me because of the failed surgery.  I am undermedicated and in constant pain.

My neurosurgeon states I am in a "degenerative" state.  He claims he can't do anything until my spine stops degenerating.  He recommends a pain doctor.  There are so many "pill pushing" doctors in this area of Florida.  Does anyone know of a doctor that is willing to help?  I live right above Daytona Beach.

Hello! Sorry to hear about your pain and complications. May I ask, why did you have the stimulator removed? How long have you had it in? Just curious. I have considered getting one. I do know all about them because I work for a pain management practice. On the recommendation from Seano on seeing a physiatrist, one of our docs is a physiatrist. I'm not sure what Seano means by "they specialize in people like us". Our physiatrist is a pain management doctor. He pushes steriod injections and medications. That is there specialty. Pain management, Rehab and Interventional Drs are into the steriod injections, stimulators, and medications. You are in the same situation I am. I do not know what type of doctor I should go to. I have been to x2 Ortho, Neuro, x2 Pain Management, Chiropractor, Rheumotologist, and family doctor.......with still no relief or answers. I have 3 seperate issues going on and I want a doctor to help me with everything as a whole. I am headed to see a holistic doctor today. I will see what he has to say. I have reactions with most medications I take of any kind. So, I don't like taking anything. Two years of steriod injections has screwed up my hormones and I don't want a spine fusion. I am told, a spine fusion will not get rid of all my pain and I will NEVER be 100% pain free. The medical community where I live is not very good. I am looking to go to a bigger city or specialized clinic in another state. Something has to change soon. Good luck on your journey. I will let you know if a holistic doctor is any different from everyother doctor in this world.
