Abdominal Pain (SEVERE)

So for the past 2 months or so I have been experiencing daily episodes of abdominal pain in my left side. I've had ultra sounds, blood work, urine tests, cat scans, ect to see what the problem was and EVERY test came back with nothing. All of my tests came back normal and apparently I am healthy indivudual. This is great to know I am at least healthy but this still does not explain this severe pain I have been dealing with for the past 2 months. I have done nothing but take Tylenol to help ease my pain, but this has done nothing for me what so ever.

I am looking for a natural or semi natural way to help manage my pain in the mean time.

I plan on taking all the tests to another doctor and getting a 3rd opinion on what may or may not be wrong with my abdomen.

Thanks for any input you may have

The deal is we respond to the question which is what are non-drug helpful tools for pain-management. I'll be back with more as soon as 738 gives me the ok.   omhome

from jmerritt.  Maybe this should have been adddressed to omhome instead of 738.  Somebody please answer.  Whoever is the "know it all" ought to know it all--at least enough to help those of us who cannot tolerate the pain

So you don't you post the answer to our question!!! Since you do claim to know a great deal. I have been in pain for more than 8 hours.  Tried convential pain pills-don't work or have severe side effects.  I want the right treatment--preferably the cure--no more pain.  Am willing to try anyting natural and healthy.  So give me some hints since you do believe you are very knowledgeable.  If you were you would know about the terrible side effects of chronic use of opiates.  It has changed my personality--but I also cannot entire the pain.

so as to your question 738 i think you might benefit from reading the "beach story" as to the effectiveness of breath-focus pain relief techniques for very painful panic situations and then read all my posts until you have found the various techniques and try them out!! Post back any questions----oh yeah--most of the breath stuff is over at the chronic pain couch----ok?
Hello jmerritt0903! Man i wish i knew everything about pain (i think?) but all i know and try to share is what i have experienced over 65yrs. Sorry to all if i have given that impression. It is hard to sound strong and knowledgable and not come off as an ego-maniac. I get that all the time from students and people who attend my workshops. So i do know what you said has merit---i'm working on it and thanks for that observation.    Alright everybody the name of the game here is post post post!

I am a real person. Not previous person. But seems you think you know everything about pain or more than the rest of us who suffer every minute just trying to breathe, let alone participate in basic life functions.  So, what do yo recommend, Mr. 738mx.  I have tried tramadol (side effects near death), many opiates causing severe side effects--my liver apparently is very sensitive and cannot filter the side effects--was on oxycodone and it worked the best with less side effects-just dopey a bit, maybe tremors related, and a bit of a cry baby.  It only really worked for about 45 min of the 2 hours before I had to take another 1/2 tablet.  Was taking almost 180 mg a day--which I understand is a lot.  Became suspicious that pain meds were causing pain as my pain seems to related to damage caused by infections that have spread and are chronic.  So when I had been on opiates it seemed my pain was worse.  Doc said this does not happen.  I just realized he was lying and they call it "hyperalgia".  I suspected this was happening about 2 years ago, but stayed on the opiates because I believed the doc and ignored my hunch that the opiates were responsible for increased pain--until I researched recently and found it it might be true.  Its hard to distinguish hyperalgia and increased desensitization requiring increase in meds.  So because I had that hunch long ago I figured that might be the truth and I stopped the opiates altogether (having told PM doc yet--appt coming up in ten days).  I wanted to see if my pain would decrease.  Anyway, I am in so much pain--can handly breathe.  Taking Aspirin, Advil and Tramadol and hardly any of it seems to be working. Also drink lots of baking soda with warm water all day long as it decreases acidosis of body cells-helps with pain dramatically but it does not even seem to be helping now.  Don't know how long it takes to get rid of the hyperalgia effects if that is responsible for doublng my pain after going into PM.  Does anybody know.  My pm doc won't tell me what is wrong with me and why I am in so much pain.  They just call it fibromyalgia--so they have no responsibility to look into the cause.  They suspected it was cortisol issue due to my history of huge stressors before I got ill and then got the pain--but blood work was normal.  Does anyone have ideas.  I have little confidence in the typical conventonial doctors.  They have no incentive to curing just ongoing treatment.  And we all know that is true!!!

well----first stop taking the tylenol as "this has done nothing for me what so ever".  And wow--what if the pain stops then?!
OK maybe willow bark----massage----compress----=look it up yourself. If the pain is so severe go to the ER and who knows---maybe the doc there is like one of the tv docs and TADA--=you are healed!
Go to a revival meeting!!!HA!  C'mon just laugh a little unless that hurts---laughter helps a lot!!
What else natural for pain?  By the Way a GREAT QUESTION to ask 738mx even if you are not a real person. Convince me you are real and i will try and offer some more natural relief! OK?
