Irritation

Ok I'm 20 years old soon to be 21. I recently had my appendix removed or what was left (it burst) and yesterday (April 15, 2008) while showering I noticed that the head of my penis was sensitive. I looked and it was red just below the urethra. It doesn't burn when I urinate and I haven't had sex since my operation. the sensitivity comes and goes and is quite noticeable when its touched by my boxers. i looked today and there are a few more red, sensitive areas around the rim. i'm not sure what this could be, i know i'm std free and any help would be appreciated.

you must be on Pain meds right?? because this could depend on the Pain med your on....Some can make nerve glands, like the whole tip of your penis, very sensitive....talk to your doctor to be sure....after a surgery, nothing is too small to be worried about...get it checked out....Good luck!

Did you have a catheder (probably spelled wrong) put in when you had your surgery? And if so how long ago was your surgery? You may be having side effects from the catheder. Depending on how long it has been going on and if its not getting better I would consult a doctor. They may have damaged something with the catheder. Second thought. Are you cercumsized (spelled wrong again I know)? If not maybe you developed an infection from not cleaning it properly?
