Aveva trans Patch generic

HI,
I just got my patch refill today. I was having anxiety about my insurance co.allowing the switch to changing the patch at 48 hours instead of 72. Becuase I was getting w/'ds at the 60 hour mark.
The prescription was filled without any insurance issue. Except I was given a brand called Aveva, Distrubited by Teva and its a Nitto Denka Co. Never heard of this brand. I did a search here and nothing came up except the Teva generic of clonipin.
Last month, my first month on the patch, I was using the Mylan brand and I was switched to every 48 hours. But after reading the archives here, some people were not very happy with the brand. (not all, some) Im just wondering if that brand is why they faded so bad at 60 hours.
I just opened one of the Aveva's to see what kind apatch it is. it looks like the same rubber type as the Mylan was. I dont see any gel. I cant open it all the way as I am not due a change till tomorow.
I would say I was happy with the Mylan, but maybe I dont know any better being on them for only one month and that was the first month on the patch system. I asked my pharmcist if he can order the Mylan if I like them better and he said he can no long get the Mylan. This is at a Rite Aid pharmacy.
If it turns out I dont like this brand, Maybe next month I'll call ahead and see if they can order the Sandos(sp) brand everyone speaks so higly of. I havent tried the gel type, well, once in the hospital, it was only a 50mcg, not the 75 that I take now.
I'll let you folks know what I think of it and if any one has experience with this brand Aveva, let me know.

I was just given the Avea patch and it is weird. Am I supposed to keep the back part on... the tan color that says fentanyl? I dont like these patches... I was doing better with the mylan brand I called the company and the sent over very thin covers to go over the patches and they worked great.

also, I called the Mylan about the patches falling off and they were okay to send equivalent "product" to the pharmacy as a trade so I can recoup the patches that I lost due to not sticking.

This particular brand of patch has turned out to be not so good for me. As a matter of fact, my doctor is requireing the Mylan name patch on my new refills.
The patch isnt sticking very good at all.I had lost three patches. I was trying different places and they would come off when I sweat in the middle of the night. I finaly had to tape the edges with paper tape just to keep them on. And Ive noticed now the middle of the patch isnt sticking either. Im suppose to change them every 48 hours and am feeling w/ds just before the 48 hour mark. I dont think its a restance/ tolerance issue, Ive only been on the patch a month and a half. Its just not sticking in the middle now.
My pharmacy wont reissue another brand or credit me for the ones Ive lost. I saved the old ones after I pealed them off my sheets with all the dang goo they leave behind and I have to pick out of my flannel bed sheets and showed them to the pharmacy and my Dr..
I was switched back to oral pills till my refill is due cause my insurance wont cover the ones that fell off.  The replacement would cost me $140.00 out of pocket and I cant afford it being on SSDI.
If you put them on first thing in the morning they work great, till you sweat.
Im going back to the Mylan. My insurance wont pay for the Durigesic brand unless your a cancer patient.
Just an update

Hi Dezdon,

I do not have personal experience with this new product. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved this product and shipment began in Oct 2008.

I was able to find that the product utilizes a proprietary matrix design which incorporates the drug into the adhesive. I kept reading the term crystals so apparently the medication is not contained within a liquid reservoir.

I hope this new patch will be effective in relieving your pain. It is not uncommon that the medication does not last the intended 72 hours for patients. I am glad that your physician was aware of that fact and has responded to your needs.

Others what have better first hand knowledge with the patch than I do will post. I used it short term and had an severe allergic reaction to the adhesive, so my personal experience is limited.  Best of luck to you and as always take care, Tuck
