Cirrhosis Pain Management

My patient has been diagnosed  with Cirrhosis. He is taking several medications:
He is kept awake by pain that travels to the hips, knees, ankles, shins, back, shoulders. Can't give him anything I have for pain.  Would Norco 10/325 hurt?

It's hard to day maybe percocete 10/350 . Some people just get too dizzy or nausiated from narcotics so it's a trial and error thing. Sometimes demerol works without the dizziness. That's why this type of pain control trail and error things are better done in a hospital but ins. co's don't like to pay.

So what be the best drug with the least Tylonol for severe, almost make a man cry, joint pain?  need something that wont turn the patient into a zombie or knock hm out but simply geet rid of the pain with a little energy kick? quality of life

These are just stigmas. Oxycodone can have tylenol as in percocete or not have tylenol as in oxycontin. Morphine or Oxycodone do the same thing and are both used for severe pain as well as Dilaudid. These drugs (narcotics) are for extreme suffering and won't hurt the liver by themselves. all the best

Oxycodone  has no Tylonol? Afraid of Morphine. Do you know of any patients with pain w/ Cirrhosis? What was patient given? morphine? thought that was for those who are fixing 2 die.

We are going to see the doctor in the morning.  last nite, Wednesday, patient in  big pain, sleepless, painful night.  We could not stand it any more so I gav him one of my pills, mentioned above in my question. We will ask the doctor tomorrow.

In his case I would think morphine or oxycodone would work well and are liver friendly with no tylenol (liver poisen). all the best

Norco contains tylenol - not good for the liver.  What does the doctor say about pain management?
