F4 Tornado/prayers

i just wanted to ask if some of you would continue to keep the tornado victims in your prayers. We had several tornadoes touch down here last Saturday night, some EF-2's and one EF-4 which killed 5 people. This happened just miles from my house and my family was effected as well however we did not lose our house or have injuries. But dozens of people lost EVERYTHING. homes were leveled, the entire high school destroyed. the stories from survivors here is surreal, and awful. Our area is still picking up the pieces, and now there are more storms moving in today and will continue off and on through the weekend. More things will get rain soaked and hamper the clean up. also lots of children are now terrified of storms because of this. Several had their roofs ripped off right over their heads , sucked up into the tornado and thrown great distances. So this new round of storms is likely to cause severe emotional trauma for some. Please keep these people in your prayers, much help is still needed in our communities.

thanks for the prayers, everyone. If you have another prayer to spare a young girl definitely needs more still. She is just 7 years old- her mom and 4 yr old brother were killed in the tornado. Her father and her were both seriously injured as well. Well, last night, her dad passed away from his injuries. She is the sole survivor =(   I was so hoping her dad would make it, but he was just too severely injured. I feel so horribly bad for her, I cannot imagine what she must be going through. I do know a friend of a friend who personally knows the family and she said the girl is doing as well as can be expected and she is strong. She did suffer many broken bones but she was finally released from the hosptal the other day, and she has very loving relatives who are going to raise her now. Her family was full of faith and went to church regularly (that is why they went to bed early that night- so they could get up for church the next morning- when the tornado hit around 11:30 pm. It leveled their home completely- all that is left is the concrete foundation. They were all upstairs in the 2nd floor bedrooms. ) It is such a tragedy. I pray she will be able to recover and live a fruitful life. But for right now, she sure could use some extra prayers.

All my thoughts and prayers are with ALL of you in Ohio tonight!! It 's so devastating what these terrible storms can do. I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma (the Original TORNADO ALLEY) for 52 years and I know exactly (first hand) what these storms can do. Had some run-ins int Tennessee when I lived there the past 10 years and I can tell you I was VERY happy to move to AZ this past summer as we are OUT of danger (for the most part) here. This was the FIRST Spring in my life that I NEVER had to worry about the bad weather.

I've been watching the news EVERY evening and been praying for everyone there and everywhere that the Tornadoes have hit this year, Oklahoma and Tennessee included.

I'm so very glad that you were not a victim in these past storms!!

Please stay safe...Sherry

thanks sandee. Today there is a bit of good news to add- a nearby school district donated a bunch of school buses to replace the ones lost in the twisters! They were going to auction them off, but then this happened, and they donated them instead. THere are so many generous people helping out in so many ways. It really renews my outlook on humans in general (ive had a lot of issues in the past and been abused and mistreated a lot so this really restored a lot in me personally)

Part 2-  (btw I am copying this from my other forum I post to, so for those of you who already saw this, sorry for the duplicate)

there's been talk of the national guard being called in  but as far as I know that hasnt happened yet. Its just people helping people at this point. Its amazing how the people have pulled together. ANyone that is able to help, has helped and are continuing to. People have donated their services (debris pick up and removal, tree cutting services- thousands of trees down across tri-county area-some blocking homes off entirely from access,  some hotels are offering free rooms to those now homeless as are some kindhearted landlords that currently have empty rental houses. Tons of volunteers are donating clothing, food, cleaning supplies, etc. (I donated lots of things to this as I cannot physically help with the clean up).  The high school was allowed to use a nearby college to finally hold their graduation ceremony- they were due to graduate just hours before the big F4 hit their school. Thank god it did not hit when hundreds of people were in there- the death toll would have been much higher. The class valedictorian actually had her own father killed in this tornado- she was unable to even speak at her graduation, the poor thing.    Its been very tough for this community. Amongst the killed were also a mother and her 4 year old son , and a young 20 year old mother was also sucked up into the tornado while trying to run to the police station to take cover (the police station was also destroyed in the twister). The school wll have to be rebuilt and take years, and most of their school buses were destroyed as well-smashed and thrown.  Horses were picked up from their pastures and tossed in swimming pools down the road...its just crazy the stuff that happened here!!  I feel so bad for those who lost loved ones and their homes. I never dreamed this would happen here. I used to love storms and even used to chase them...not anymore...not anymore.
