Fentanyl 12mcg
I was just put on fentanyl 12mcg. I am taking 3 norco for breakthrough pain. I am not getting much relief. It seems like the patch is most effective on the 1st day, and I get no relief on the third day, anyone else experience this problem?
My problem is BCBS. I can get the presciption changed but have to pay for the other 5 patches out of pocket.

I was prescribed Fentanyl about 2 years ago and right off the bat I found that it didn't last the entire 72 hrs. I contacted my Doctor and was upgraded to 1 patch every 48 hrs. You might want to do the same.
My Doctor told me that some ppl process the Fentanyl faster than others. Therefore needing to change it more often.
You might want to contact your Doctor and let him know.
