Hi, I just wanted to let you know that you're commenting on a very old post. It would be a good idea to start your own post so you'll get more responses.
I'm so sorry you're going this. I just don't understand some Drs. You find something that works well but they won't let you have it. That just makes no sense. Are you sure it has nothing to do with your insurance? Sometimes Vicodin can be less costly than Percocet.
Have a talk with your Dr to let her know you're having side effects from the Vicodin and have done much better with Percocet.
Us Gemini's are having a ball with Flexeril! I just started taking it. I must say I got a great night sleep for once! Have arthritis, chronic insomnia, partial paralysis, hypersensitive to pain. The generic vicoden wires me badly, can't take after 4pm. Really want to take percocet for pain, works great but got a new doc (old one retired) and she gave me vicoden instead-BAD idea!
Thanks for the warning. I took it last night and slept very well. I got up during the night and no dizzyness. This morning my pain level was way down and no other side effects yet. It may take time to build up in your system but so far I feel great because my pain level is down. I am also taking a new plant based NSAID called Limbrel, that doesn't irritate the stomach. It is very expensive but since I can't take Ibupropin and Celebrex the insurance may approve it.Funny if I pay cash at Riteaid it is $300.00 and at Costco if you are member it is $115.00. That is a huge difference but still expensive for every month. I hope the insurance will cover it. I don't know how well it works yet. I am taking Flector patches or cream too. I just got diagnosed with myofascial pain and they are trying a bunch of stuff. So far it is work as I had high pain yesterday and it is down to a 2 or so this morning! Then I'm supposed to go for trigger point injections and accupuncture. I hope the trigger point injections aren't too painful during or after.

I have used flexeril for my back injuries before and the only side effect was rebound depression...but because of the mechanism that muscle relaxants use, that's a common side effect. however, it's something to be aware of; if, after your medicine begins to wear off, you feel unaccountably down...be aware that the flexeril may be causing it. if the medicine is working well for you and the depression isn't too severe then there's no reason to stop taking it because of that, however you should be forewarned that it can happen so you don't think you're depressed for no reason!
best of luck, hopefully it will be smooth as silk and work great with no side effects :)
I've used Flexeril a couple of times and didn't have any side-effects from it. However, I normally don't have many side-effects from my meds.
My Orthopedic Surgeon just gave me a prescription for Flexeril last week but it didn't seem to be doing much and so my WONDERFUL PM Doctor changed it to Baclofen so that it would target the muscles that were bothering me so much. I've JUST started it so I don't have much information for you one way pr the other as of yet. As soon as I do I will let you know!!! :)
I hope you have GREAT success with it and NO Side-effects!!......Sherry
I had very bad side effects from Flexeril. Just on one dose I was speaking and the words coming out of my mouth was not what I meant to say. It made me extremely foggy too, to the point where I could not fuction. It took 3 days for the med to completely get out of my system. I will never take it again.
Thank you I hope to not get any of the rare side effects too. I have myofascial pain syndrome. Osteoarthristis and not regular arthritis. I assume by your nickname you are a Gemini, I am too.

Also, since I don't take it every day, I've never experienced any withdrawal symptoms on days that I don't take it.
