Georgia Board of Composites??

Just found out my primary care doc can no longer write my methadone for chronic pain. He says it's not just him, it's ALL primary/GP and he's referring all pain med patients to the clinics. Problem is I don't have insurance and simply can't afford it!! Another thing I'm finding out is even if I could afford it...well the few I called are saying they won't write methadone. I don't know what to do but I don't wanna live in chronic pain. Even if I did get the money up to go there are sooo many people trying to get in there that it would prob take 2-3 months to get an appt. Anybody else dealing with this?? :(

Hi...thanks for your response. My family doc wrote me a script for norco and it seems to take the edge off a little but nothing like the methadone. I am thankful to at least get these now. However my doc did say that he wouldn't even be able to write the norco sometimes later this year due to the rescheduling of the norco from class 3 to class 2. If it's not one thing it's another!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems.  Yes, it is possible that many would be dealing with these problems. In such a situation it may help to switch to alternative methods of pain relief like physiotherapy, acupressure/acupuncture, hydrotherapy like swimming, and generic non-opioid pain medications.

Your GP may not be able to prescribe opioid pain killers but there are many other pain medications which may help reduce the intensity if taken along with opioid pain medications. So, even if you cannot be prescribed methadone, a combination of opioid and non-opioid pain killer could still be prescribed.

You may be able to get a prescription for pain medication for the time until your next appointment at a pain clinic you could find. So ask your GP regarding this since I am not sure if this is possible.
Take care!
