HELP.........PLEASE! IM SERIOUS!

Have been on Fentnyl 25 patch for over a year. 3,months ago I asked my Dr to reduce me because my body felt so toxic! I couldn't even tell where my pain was or how bad anymore. He got mad because I said I wanted off everything, but he reduced it to the 12.5 patch. I stopped the Oxycodone and Lyrica as well on my own. How can I get off this patch? He told me I would only do it for 2months then I would go to something else to taper down ......but he lied. When I went back 2,months later, he wrote a prescription for the patches and told me to wear them longer till I eventually didn't need them. Yeah.......right! Stupidest thing I ever heard. I am extremely serious about this people.

I visited a health store I used to frequent in past on wed and she suggested cutting the patch in half. I have always taken a multi vit daily. I eat good and healthy, so all in all, I'm in pretty good shape for 55. I've been exercising recently and more mobile, and try to stop the bouts of depression by getting up and doing more if I can.I also take care of my 80 yo mother with Alzheimer's, whom life as with us.

My thoughts exactly! How do you taper by staying on the meds?! I gained  like 50 lbs over the past 9yrs because of the less and the depression. Since I took myself off the Lyrica and oxycodone I've lost 27 lbs. That has gave me the determination and desire to keep moving forward, not to mention I get those looks I used to get from hubby. ;) All joking aside, " I'm sick and tired, of being g sick and tired."

your comment wasn't there when i typed my comment.   i assume by 'flat one' you mean the mylan patch.  we cannot give taper advice, but if you search this site for fentanyl taper or getting off fentanyl then you will find old posts that do share taper advice. since you are not on the gel patch you are LUCKY in the fact there are ways for you to taper

that doesn't make any sense.  after 72 hrs they lose the effectiveness, then you put ANOTHER 12.5 on and your body once again gets used to this dose, then you just keep doing that over and over.  insanity.  do you use the gel (duragelsic) patch or the mylan patch?

I am on the flat one. He said ( words verbatim) "then you won't need me anymore." Lol..... Unbelievable! I have cervical rediculopathy and extreme pain with it, as well as a past surgery in my lower back from a ruptured disc and pain with that still! Fibromyalgia too. I want off this crap I told him and that I would do nerve blocks or trigger point injections. No more meds.
