Hand surgery and pain and back pain

The hand was broken almost 3 years ago and since that time the pain has been unbearable. I went to a pain management place a week ago and they were to inject me with  something in the area  to make the pain less. I had to lay on my back so they could monitor the stuff on the computer while injecting me and because of laying on my back for so long, the pain in my back is horrible. I am in constant pain now. I went to my regular doctor about this and he gave me tylenol with codeine and a musle relaxer and if anything it is even worse. I haven't slept in a week for the pain. I need hlep but don't know where to turn.

Hi Sammy1,
I agree with Sandee1818. Sometimes your body can have "unusual" responses to treatments aimed at other locations from the medication utilized. Ask what was used and research the possible side effects. We will help you with that process if you let us know.

And yes you do need to get this documented so that if this doest not resolve on it's own you have a starting point. It is possible that the injection of the medication and your back pain or not related. You may have aggravated an old "minor" injury that is now much worse or developed a new issue due to positioning or it could be a condition that just began on the same day that you received the injection. There are a multitude of possibilities.

And yes be sure and call your physician and report that the severity of the pain. Hopefully they will order you something that will give you better pain relief until this matter can be resolved or diagnosed and treated.

Please keep us updated. I hope you are soon feeling better. Take care, Tuck

You need to find out what drugs were used and see your Dr again and ask if there is any relevance. I know some of the drugs used for the type of procedure you had can cause side effects so you should find out what they were and go from there.
You need to document everything also so there is no questions later and you will have all the info written down. make sure the Dr who performed the procedure knows about your back pain also. Please let me know when you find out what drugs were used and I will assist you any way I can.
In the mean time call the Dr and let him know the meds he gave you are not working and your in a lot of pain.
