Have you seen Moshe Lewis Pain MD audition for Oprah's search for new TV Show?

Please check out Dr. Moshe Lewis's short video audition on Oprah Winfrey's Network website. He is trying to get the word out to our families and all members of the community that still have no idea what it is like to live a life in chronic pain and are still being judged and misunderstood for our use of pain medication. Please listen to his video and see for yourself what a great show this would be as he provides the much needed information to the public so they can start feeling and expressing the empathy we need for all to understand that we are not drug addicts by choice, but we are just trying to cope with the loss of our past active lives through pain management that keeps us functioning as much as possible as wives, husband, mothers, fathers, and active members of the community instead of choosing a life of immobility and depression. Just Google "Oprah Winfrey Network Moshe Lewis" and it will bring you right to his video. Please vote and maybe even comment and help him help us.
Thanks a lot for your time and patience. Gailiemac

Thanks for your support and giving my video a look see. I believe responsible practitioners in pain management should look at the available treatments, both alternative and mainstream. All of my patients have chronic pain and I try to work out a treatment course that is customized to their situation. Dr's should not be persecuted for prescribing responsibly and insurance companies should be more open to alternative treatment modalities when they are beneficial.

Only presenting the negative side will only leave people, including some physicians afraid to help people with chronic pain. I hope to give a positive perspective on pain by examining the host of treatment options available in detail. With appreciation, Moshe

Thank you for posting this information.

I watched the video, read the comments and looked up a bit about Dr. Moshe Lewis. I think the video leaned a bit more towards alternative choices. However the video touched on it as well as the supporting information included Dr. Moshe Lewis's belief in opiate treatment when other methods fail or in combination with other methods or even as a sole treatment when appropriate or necessary. Goodness knows I am for alternative treatments, when they work!!!

I for one left my opinion on Oprah's web site when she had a physician (Dr Oz ?) a few months ago that displayed a very negative attitude towards chronic pain patients. I felt that he berated the use of opiates and down played the severity of chronic pain in our society. He made me feel like I needed to apologize for contributing the the illegal drug use in this country. I was very disappointed in that airing and felt is was just another step back for we chronic pain sufferers.

I am hopeful that Dr.Moshe Lewis will address the other side of the story. Sometimes I think it can't get any worse in the Media. I think they actually beleive I was directly responsible for Michael Jackson's demise.

Just my thoughts!

Peace,
~Tuck

I went to the site and watched the video. However, I'm of the impression that THIS is about ALTERNATIVE choices NOT about the people that are having to use the pain pills.

MAYBE I misunderstood. I hope that someone else will watch it and post on what they took from it. I didn't hear ANYTHING about CP Patients and the use of pain medication.

I HOPE that I am wrong as it would be WONDERFUL to have a show out there that SUPPORTS us!!

Thanks for the information...Sherry

thx....for the info.
I'm glad she is finally giving voice to the other side of legitimate chronic pain people.
Last year she did a show with dr Oz  talking about the epidemic of people that started with an injury that resulted in continued prescription hunting and addiction.....she got alot of flack on her website following that show from chronic pain people and responsible doctors.
