Hi Flower,
Yes, you can use ice but noe directly on the patch as it really needs to stay at body temperature so that it will release the Fentanyl evenly into your system. You alwo, need to keep it dry!! VERY IMPORTANT so that ti doesn't come loose. If you sweat that sweat or the water from the shower can also loosen it.
You can't alter the post once it's sent. At least as far as I know you can't. You might just post a Post Script to it by posting a comment on here. :)
Thanks again Flower for giving us this Information, it brings back such NICE memories of MY Electric Blanket and MY Heating Pad, I MISS THEM!!!! LOL
Take Care......Sherry
Sherry,
Thanks for writing that about the Fentanyl Patch! If you can tell me how to edit the post, maybe I can add that it should not be used with the patch. Can you use ice with the Patch?
Designgirl, Yeah, they're nice because of the shut off feature and because they don't make me sore. Also, they come with a warranty.
Jay, Oh man. That's ashame that you never got it back. It must've worked really well!
Runningmom, I use ice, too. I use a soft one and it's great. I think that ice works well for me too, but I often forget to use it unless I'm really flaring.
Mummy, My husband gets annoyed (even though he'll never admit it), because the house is always SO cold in the summer. I keep the air conditioning on so that I can sit on heat.

Heat seems to work better for me than ice... but I just can't take it during the summer! I begin to sweat all over!!!
I wear the heat pads that stick directly to your skin during the fall, winter and spring. I would not be able to function in the colder weather without them...
Thanks for the tip, however - I might just try your suggestion during the winter when I am home!! Moist heat is great!
I use ice rather then heat. However, that sounds like the perfect heating pad! I think I will go out and get one. Moist heat is the best heat to use!
The best one I ever owned also came from a physical therapist. I have no idea who manufactured it, but it also worked on the moist heat concept. Just pop it in the microwave for a minute or so, wrap in a towel and enjoy. No worries about leaving it on and it cooled off in the recommended 20 minutes. I loaned it to a friend of mine and never got it back. :-(
Hi Flower,
I'm a BIG time heating pad user. I normally burn out a few each year. They are supposed to last like five years but not if your using it day and night every single day I guess. So, I think maybe I'll see if tey have those here and check it out. Thanks for the info.
Hi Flower,
Unfortunately, I CAN'T use heating pads OR my BELOVED Electric Blanket anymore because of the Fentanyl Patches I use, as I have to be VERY careful about excessive heat, EVEN in the shower or bath.
That said, I KNOW that there will be a LOT of members on here that are going to be REALLY appreciative for the GREAT information that you have provided the Forum with.
If I could use the Heating Pds I would DEFINITELY TRY one. they sound like they would be wonderful, especially with the added Auto-Shut-off Feature.
Thank you so much and I'm very glad that you are getting this GREAT relief from THIEM.
Thank you.....Sherry
