How do I go about getting off of subutex and going back to my pain medication?

Hi,
I've been on Subutex for a little while, not liking it so much. I have a lot of pain and it's not helping really at all, I would like to go back taking my pain medication, how do I go about this? Thank you so much. Any suggestions will help me. Have a blessed day.

Who put you on subutex ? And what was the reasoning for going on subutex? If it was your pm doctor, then he/she can convert you back to opiates.
If you went to an addictionologist/treatment program or were dismissed from pain management, and that is why you were placed on subutex, you may have a more complicated situation in trying to get another doctor to prescribe opiates for you.
Subutex is used in addiction treatment, and while it is occasionally prescribed in pain management settings, most drs and pharmacists see a prescription history of suboxone/subutex and associate it with substance abuse. If you were dismissed from previous pain management, especially for failed urine tests, pill counts, early refills, multiple prescription from different drs, it will complicate the picture of converting back to opiates.
