How long dose it take to detox from Flexeril?

I am 16 and i have depression and i tried to overdose on Flexeril. This was 2 weeks ago from this day. I took the whole bottle which was only about 50 pills and 30 mins later i was sleepy and found it hard to stand still so i went to bed. When i woke in the morning I knew this would happen but my mouth was dry, i was dizzy, my body was heavy, and still very tired. These symptomes lasted 3 days and after i felt fine and went back to my normal day things but every now and then i get a wave of dizziness for no reason and find that I'm not as hungry as i used to be. My biggest question is how long would it take to detox from Flexeril?

You're already detoxed my dear if you've not had any for over two weeks....Anyways, I hope that you go and get yourself some help, you're too young to be so depressed that you'd want to end your life.  You're sixteen get out there and enjoy your youth....

Hi Sweety. You've gotten some wonderful advice on this forum. You're only 16 and have your whole life ahead of you.
I have a daughter myself and her first attempt was when she was 12 years old. Her second was at 13 and her last was a few years ago. She's in her 30's now. She finally got in to the right kind of therapy and also made huge changes in her life. She still struggles with depression at times but she is no longer suicidal and she's also medication free.
I also have depression. There have been days when I felt like jumping off of a bridge, literally. But I thought about my family and friends and what if tomorrow was better. Sometimes tomorrow is better and sometimes it's not. I'm never going to give up though. We only have one life and it can be wonderful.
I'm really shocked that the hospital keeps sending you home. Usually they will keep someone that's tried to commit suicide for a day or so to evaluate them and set up an appointment with a therapist.
Why not give this a try? Therapy and medication can do wonders for depression. Do what ever you need to do to get someone to listen to you. Scream your head off if you have to. Beg for help.
There are also hotlines you can call to talk to someone at any time. Google them or look in your local phone book.
If you got started in therapy and also started on medication you could be feeling better within a week.
Please keep in touch with us. We're here to help any way we can. If you need someone to help you find a therapist or hotline numbers we will be here to help you with all of that.
Never give up because things can get better, I promise you they can.

Rea, this makes me so sad. I had a brother who on March 2 of this year took his own life.  He was not just a brother he was really my best friend. We were together every day, yet I did not see it coming. I SOOO wish I had. Sweetie, I can see reading your post life for you is difficult. But, in just a couple years you will be out of the house and can make your own path in life. Hang in there sweetie, you can survive. I know you survived your attempt at suicide for a purpose. Whether your mom likes it or not Hod protected you from death and He has a plan for you.  I am here if you need to talk. You can use the message feature if you want to talk privately. Hang in there you can make it!

Thank you for your concern but my mother would have my head if she thought i was going to god and i have told her, two times and both times she took me to the hospital and both times the hospital asked me questions that i answered with truth and both times they sent me home and it was left at that.

I have been through a lot, way more then a 16 year old should have and i understand it is what it is but this is my choice and my life and i believe it is my choice to take my own life but again i thank you for answering my question and then some.

If your last dose, albeit massive, was 2 weeks ago, then all Flexeril is gone from your system.

Lack of appetite is probably a symptom of depression.

Herein lies the crux of the matter -- what's to prevent you from doing this again?

Who else knows that you tried to end your life with cyclobenzaprine? Is your doctor aware of your dramatic "call for help?"

Is your family responding? If you were my 16 year-old daughter, I'd want to respond and get you the support you need. I'd want to be actively involved in your "talking cure."

Most of the problems in this world have working solutions, but we cannot always find them by ourselves for one reason or another. Maybe we feel its not worth the trouble, or that we're not worth the trouble.

However it is that you feel, there are people in your life that need to hear it. It is time to take these self-destructive thoughts and turn then 180 degrees, away from your heart, and focus them outward. Don't worry -- the world can take the weight. Right now, you can't, so please: hand it over.

You are undergoing what is called a spiritual crisis. Often religious figures in our lives can help, but sometimes they cannont. Fortunately, there are professionals in psycho-social science who can understand suicide and can carry that weight and help you figure out new solutions to the specific problems that led you to that place -- two weeks ago with a bottle of pills in your hand.

I suggest that those in this community who pray, do so for our friend Rae. My prayers for you involve peace, love, and understanding -- may you find them, and quickly.

Please open your private world to trusted counselors -- doctors, psychologists, clergy, elders who can offer wisdom, and to new ideas that come into our lives from all directions, but must be listened for. Listening comes from quieting our minds -- especially our inner talk.

Be wary of the inner talk you're experiencing these days. Your impulse to write here on MedHelp was a health message. Your impulse to swallow all your Flexiril was unhealthy. Unhealthy messages you must learn to let go of.

Since you posted here on the Pain forum, are you experiencing untreated pain? This can cause many to exit life every day.

However, there is much in life to experience that is both sweet and nurturing. At 16 you can't have possibly had enough of these experiences.

So, if pain is so severe that you want to check out, then pursue pain management with passion. There are many doctors and other practitioners in the world who want to treat your pain -- you must find them.

Let us know if we can help with this.

In the meantime, find a psychological support network and start with a suicide "hotline" where you can speak with compassionate people if you ever get the urge to take a final exit again.

The world needs you. I can't tell you what your purpose is here in this life -- that's information reserved for only certain gods.

But I do know that every one of us has a reason to be here in this place that is often beautiful and too often cruel and painful.

So I know that we all lose if you do succeed in leaving us behind. Whatever your purpose in life may be left unfulfilled, and that is a tragedy.

Let others help avoid this tragedy, if possible. Open your heart to the loving support of others and do what needs to be done for the management of your pain syndrome -- Flexiril ain't the answer. Someone is undertreating your pain. Find a compassionate practitioner who will.

I hope that I've left you with some alternative ideas and perhaps given you a direction in which to start. Each journey begins with a single step, as they say. Take that step back towards life today.

Im 51. My family hates me. My grandson is being ripped from my life. Im in constant pain. How many flexiril to not wake up?
There are other pain meds that you can use depending on your problem. What is going on with you? You don't want to end your life. Not really. You need pain relief.  Are you still there?
