It's good that he's improving, hoping for continued healing...
Update. It's now been a full year since the wreck. The wide opening in his leg has healed and is narrowing slowly. His bone is almost 100% healed, but not quite yet. His screws have been removed, which gave him instant relief, because one was gouging into the inside of his knee, causing much pain when he bent his knee or tried to walk. He is beginning to get sensations back in his feet. His toes can now stand to be touched when, before, a feather lite touch would fill him with horrible pain. He can now stand to have the top of his foot rubbed pretty vigorously and even thinks it feels good. He can now feel a water droplet hit his foot, instantly; before he couldn't feel it at all. He can just now wiggle a few middle toes, and his big toe, just slightly. He has been beginning to walk with a cane instead of a walker, but walking is still very painful for him. Doc said his muscles are stiff and will be breaking and stretching over time, and he can't guarantee he'll ever walk completely pain free again.
Here's an older update on his situation which shows his leg after a half year of healing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDtms5rnZwQ
Hi, if the pain meds are not working then talk to the doctor about another dose option. Needless suffering is a waist of energy.
